  1. That'd do for me, we wanted someone tactically better, that must be the case with Lee given his track record as a number two, prefer Dowie but wouldn't be disappointed with Lee
  2. Agree with JoeP I think we all feel that the players need that aggressive ''no prisoners' style of manager that we think Dowie is, he look like the bookies favourite now. Get him in.
  3. Agreed, think that would have been seen as very unprofessional, don't agree either that Wes and Byrne weren't/aren't up for the fight either. Nonsense, the finish for the third incidentally was superb and sometimes you just have to acknowledge that, came from a Bouzanis miskick if anyone's to blame.
  4. Browns win record includes managing Hull in the Premiership which is bound to bring the percentages down! Every manager has a poor spell on his record, Brown would be a good signing, surely he's got the tactical brain we have asked for
  5. Alan Curbishley would be interesting but hasn't he been out of the game for some time now?
  6. Hmmmmm.....would anyone actually satisfy you. I can see what will happen now, whoever gets appointed there will be loads of abuse on here as to why it won't work!!
  7. The only option we have for Tuesday Is Byrne to right back and Tarky in the centre. I suspect he will go with Brown again though to give him chance to settle, bit of a risk in the current dogfight though.
  8. You look at the starting eleven and the first 25 mins and you think why are we in trouble. Then the game gets going and the opposition seems to be able to react to us, nullify us and then we not seem to be able t counter. It's happened too often this season.
  9. I don't get these who say the players don't care, I was there too, the problems were organisational and tactical and not driven by a lack of effort. In fact at one stage they were all losing their tempers which smacked of passion but also panic
  10. Brown had a shocker, he looks like a little boy lost and I can't help feeling we need another right back. Barnard started very well, quality goal from a superb Croft cross. He will be very good and certainly looks determined and fit enough. Not sure why Croft was subbed he gave his all for me but really missed his mate Wabara. Again, not sure why Winchester was subbed, not a big fan of has yet but he looked ok and was looking to repeat last weeks role by tucking in (though this inevitably means we lack width). Mvoto and Byrne were solid enough and Grounds always impresses me and Bouzanis was fine. First half was definitely ours, two good shouts for pens turned down, they were fortunate to get back in it before the break (Brown out of position and a poor header I think). They came out flying second half and shaded, the third goal was really well taken but flatters them Oh, Chris Owelmu started brightly bt faded as the game went on, he and Barnard could be very effective though, Baxter and Wes were just ok. New guy from Reading seemed to lack a bit of fight but hat ay prove to b bit unkind.
  11. Even an off key Baxter gets in this side, and actually he was ok today in any case.
  12. Is anybody else concerned that the new boys might be short of match practice? don't expect too much from four new faces all thrown into a relegation battle. it may take a few games to gel, time that we cant afford? Unfortunately we don't have much choice, lets hope it works.
  13. Nothing wrong with that, good radio. Savage is always a good listen as he is opinionated, agree with him or not. The hosts are always going to come down on the side of the guests - if Simon Corney had been there they would have been blaming the manager and players for the dismal league form and praising the chairman for his support for the club!
  14. What an idiotic title to this thread, well done mate.
  15. Do we want to be relying on inexperience in the current predicament? That said I think Brown can step up to the mark though I do think he's a bit lightweight
  16. Good signing, this guy has played regularly at a much higher level than this, some are still delusional about who we are able to attract to the club
  17. Think it's fair to say that the players probably carried out his instructions today too. Well done Dickov, now sort out our performances in the league.
  18. This would be the icing on the cake today.....please sign him
  19. Been looking for those highlights for ages but only ever find the replay, great reminder for everyone of the magic of the cup, you'll find it under team news. If our wingers could cross like Holden and Adams....................
  20. We are crying out for a striker or two, that's all we need, the rest can hold their own as a squad, we've even been known to pass it around at times, what we lack is goals, not easy but there must be a half decent goals corer out ther for this level.
  21. Stainrod scored a magnificent equaliser (I think) in front of the Chaddy too. Great game, great atmosphere, what a player.
  22. Please no drum, ruins many a match. I hate the band at England games too, boring.
  23. Craig Dudley and Matthew Tipton, both in the Black Country
  24. But that's a good thing to say, I'd be more worried if he said the club couldn't survive without him. Owners are only at the helm for a relatively short time, their role is, if possible, to get success but asa bare minimum it is to ensure the club is in a fit state to hand over the baton when that time omes - Corney is saying that's what he's done.
