  1. I don't understand all this "It looks like Pompey/Cardiff/Bastia/Empoli" nonsense. Loads of clubs play in blue and white, so there are going to be a lot of similarities. That's why we have change strips. Until we return to our proper kit we will never have a unique kit. But that's been said, agreed with and disagreed with plenty of times. So really the club and manufacturers can't win.
  2. I quite like it. Similar to last season's really. I'm glad the Sports Direct logo is a lot smaller than many feared.
  3. I'd be amazed if there's even a Latics sub. It would either kill a forum such as this or not be able to compete. I can't decide which.
  4. Terrible image quality, but I loved - and still do - this kit: I still play 5-a-side in it sometimes; "Dudley 17" on the back.
  5. OMG I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY'VE GOT BLACK SHORTS I'M NEVER GOING TO WATCH FOOTBALL AGAIN.
  6. I agree it's a little unusual, but really if we're honest it's more like not selling advent calendars until December 3rd. You can still 'use' it for the vast majority of the intended period.
  7. My only concern would be that as it's not a particularly common formation players might be a little tactically naive when employed in it. Other than that concern I'd say give it a go. I'm a big fan of it in theory.
  8. Maybe the Athleticos can introduce a new song to their oeuvre: "Who put the ball in the Geordies' net? Willy Willy Gros!" It will sound brilliant as it's belted out on Wembley way prior to the 2022 FA Cup final.
  9. Newcastle Rag report ..."Willy Gros hit an undercooked shot that trickled beneath Jak Alnwick to record what will go down as a famous win for the League One minnows." They think very highly of themselves don't they.
  10. It's an excellent shirt, that Carlisle home strip. Makes me think that whilst we may be in for an off-the-peg effort this year the future shirts could be a lot better.
  11. Hopes: Johnson learns from previous mistakes. We build a squad that will gel together, only relying on short term loanees to cover injuries and long term loanees to sign quality players we could never afford. We push for promotion, play-offs would do for me. If we don't push for promotion, a few exciting runs/games with us playing attacking football would be nice. Young players push on and improve, I have high hopes for Jonson Clarke-Harris. Fears: As with most recent seasons the number of seemingly pointless loans rise whilst our own players sit and watch on. We once again finish bottom half (I'm optimistic enough to be confident we'll be L1 this time next year). Expectations: Johnson will again attempt to play exciting football. It'll work some of the time, but other times it won't and we'll either lose or revert to a more disciplined system to get results. This well get us a top half finish. That is around 12th, not 4th. Our young squad's form will oscillate wildly, some will disappoint while others will impress (I'm looking at you Jonson).
  12. Nice one. Number 6 was a cracker. Pretty sure the cameraman was on the sauce though.
  13. James 'Hamez' Rodriguez. World Cup top goalscorer. Too lightweight for League One though if you ask me.
  14. I'm considering going Dutch for a week the next time they go up Alpe d'Huez, those guys know how to enjoy a bike race.
  15. I'm going to say Rachubka for 60p... I also know 2. but I may have bent the rules a little, so I'll keep schtum for now.
  16. Only one finalist so not much chance of improving my position. I'm just happy to have staved off relegation to the Confederations Cup Prediction League for another year.
  17. Pedro Rodriquez, little Spanish fella. I fancied him to bag a few, but with Spain going out early that died a death. I must admit I didn't consider Mueller either, but I'm growing to like him. He's just so utterly, unashamedly German. I bet he gets to the ground early to lay his towel out in the changing rooms, before lending his money to lesser paid and more profligate footballers.
  18. I'm amazed nobody went for Mueller. I'm also still amazed that I went for Pedro.
