  1. So was the chap I saw in the pink away kit at Cragg Vale today anyone on here?
  2. Karen Carney that, decent player from what I've seen.
  3. That sounds like a first option deal, where Newcastle would have first refusal on our players. All it would mean in practice is that when we accept an offer for one of our players we must accept an offer of the equivalent value from Newcastle. That's the most sway they could hold over us, and they might not even have something that formal arranged.
  4. I have to admit I tentatively clicked on both those links. It was a real thrill.
  5. I can't wait for this, I'll be In Ilkley on Saturday and Cragg Vale on Sunday. Was really hoping to get to Holme Moss but was struggling for transport, parking, general organisational skills etc. I'm particularly looking forward to seeing the horror on their faces on the TV close ups as they face Jenkin Road's 33% on the run into Sheffield as well. If it's wet we could even see a couple pushing their bikes up there. Also, shameless plug for something I wrote about Yorkshire, the Tour, etc recently: Bienvenue a Yorkshire.
  6. Great news. Boundary Park/Ice Station Zebra/BP/Sports Direct.com Parl/SDP/that eyesore of Furtherwood Road I really couldn't care less what the club and the media refer to it as, so it's money for nowt.
  7. Sadly not, I've got Argentina beating Belgium 3-2 in an epic quarter final that will go down in history as being the defining moment of Lionel Messi's career as he goes on to lift the trophy on his own. Actually I've got Brazil to win, but I've changed my mind having watched them play.
  8. My quarter final line up was: Brazil - Colombia Bosnia - Germany Spain - Uruguay Argentina - Belgium Five teams out of eight, I don't see it yielding the points required to catapult me up the table though. Edit: Particularly as in those two correctly predicted ties I need 3-2 'home' wins for maximum points!
  9. Exactly. I think to an extent you have to earn the right to play exciting football. When we played open football we were too easy to pick off on the counter. Then we tightened up and became harder to beat. If we remain hard to beat teams will have to commit more to scoring against us, hopefully leaving space our forwards can exploit. This results in goals and wins and unbeaten runs and promotions. Simple really. I'm no tactician mind.
  10. In that case you're fine, you'll probably win. Congratulations...
  11. Only if you've predicted the two teams that will meet. i.e. if you have Brazil v Colombia you'll get the points, even if you predicted both teams would finish 2nd in their respective groups and win their 2nd round games.
  12. I don't think the Barnsley attendance will be affected massively. A lot of people - though I know not all - will have that week off work and all the kiddywinks and students will be sat at home twiddling their thumbs. As has been said, a Lancs-Yorks ding dong under the floodlights gives me a warm, fuzzy, vitriolic feeling.
  13. Incredible. On a board where Gary Harkins is God and Neal Eardley is :censored: Neymar is now not much cop. Chaps I think we're parodying ourselves too much.
  14. Spain, England, Costa Rica, France, Portugal and Algeria have bollocksed it up for me. If it wasn't for them I'd be well up there...
  15. Might I ask his age or era in which he played? The game's changed, it's constantly changing. Besides, it's not about knowing your own fitness levels. It's about trying to stretch the capabilities of limited players by making them as fit as possible, beyond their natural levels. It's all about those marginal gains Dave Brailsford is so fond of.
  16. So we are to expect players to just become fit - to the level of professional sportsmen - of their own accord, without advice and coaching?
  17. I'm guessing they've worked their socks off and can't find them anymore?
  18. I'm a tad concerned I may have to apply for re-election to participate in the 2014/15 prediction league.
  19. So get something better for a lesser price? I don't suppose you know where I can get a new BMW 1 Series for less than my Ford Focus do you?
  20. Corney's not perfect, but your reasons for him leaving are flimsy at best.
  21. I wouldn't imagine so. Not with the Good v Evil match, the returns of Cambridge and Luton, even Bury at Bolton might be more appealing.
