I thought the lad from celtic played ok, yeah he was a bit jittery at times but defensively he was strong in the air and put a fair few blocks in. Better than connor brown .
So you all think Barry wants us to be crap, just because he's a walking disaster doesn't mean he really enjoyed the performance today. If you want to blame someone blame the management team and/or corney.
We are too defensive at the moment, there's no doubt about that. It never helps when your main striker has a brain fart like that though. The thing for me is in the last 15-20 minutes when we gave it a go we looked good. This team is very capable of the play-off's.
I agree that he'd be better with a partner up top, the problem is that stan is on international duty and cassidy, well DK still hasn't given a reason as to why cassidy isn't playing.
Turner has been rank in his few apperances, murphy is way short of game time, poleon's on the naughty step and philliskirk has played well at cm/dm recently.
There's no point playing 3 at the back so you have loads in midfield when the opposition are just going hoof it over their heads.
I'd go 4-2-1-3.
Coleman
dieng, wilson, burn, brown
philli, jones
dunn
croft, forte, yeates
IMO, this team is very capable of the play-offs and id be disappointed if we didn't reach them. That said im fairly happy with the current position. We've seen a definite improvement in the Bury game. We have to keep on improving and that involves putting the ball in the net more. I'd be worried if we weren't creating chances but on the evidence of Bury we are creating more. Decent start overall.
The formation isn't the problem, its a decent formation. The players are just not gung ho enough. The fullbacks have to overlap and get forward, our goal against bury came from a cross from mills. We also don't shoot enough, forte and philli are the main culprits.
Bristol city were the best team in the division, we're not. Would i like us to go to wembley, yeah. Would i rather we win in the league than the JPT, definitely.
i think we can all agree winiesta has quality but for me he isn't positive enough. He's too conservative on the ball, he needs to run at people more and thats what dunn does better than him.
Forte plays on the last man, if we play to his strengths he would be miles better upfront than on the wing. Hoofing it to him is just pointless. If you put Yaya Toure upfront he'd score goals, doesn't mean he's a striker.
We don't have many wingers though, we've got croft and Poleon. Poleon still has to learn he doesn't have to take his man on 10 times before passing him and croft has no ability in the final third. Good addition if you ask me.
