I imagine Truelove has been training with the 1st team quite a bit so Dunn would've known if he was up to the job or not. You don't want to chuck a youth team player in too soon.......
I've never understood the "relegation might be a good thing" idea, it just wouldn't, it would be crap. There's no certainty we'd go back up and there's a chance we'd go down again. Also people who don't come to games now aren't going to come back to watch us in a worse league with (arguably) worse players.......
First Yellow wasn't deserved, for the 2nd it would've been fair if half the fouls given against him were actually fouls. Thought the ref had a poor game, inconsistent, 1 decision for them and another for us.
You can't blame today on the formation. What you can blame it on was the effort and general play.
We were second to every loose ball.
We never made any tackles and were weak on and off the ball.
We were to slow in passing the ball and when we did there were to many loose passes (especially from 1 touch flicks, we ain't barca, keep it simple).
There was hardly any movement off the ball.
Far too many aimless hoofs.
Cornell's distribution was god awful.
We didn't cross the ball nearly enough.
It was a rank bad performance.
Never understood this, once they come here they play for us. They're just not here for as long as contracted players. If they're decent then surely you get excited about them playing for us?
I have no doubt that he applied for that job. Anyway I didn't really think Johnson was anything special, once an offer came we were right to take the money and run IMO.
He made a massive sodding dossier on barnsley before we went to leyton orient. He forced the clubs hands, having a manager who doesn't want to be there isn't helpful.
I'd like to say i had some form of belief that he might be half decent. A few others did too, it was just the moaners on here who have to target an individual.
The problem lies in the fact united and city are constantly on tv. Kids these days can watch every united or city game from comfort of their own home. So saying that its not a new club doesnt take that fact away, if you had the choice between going freezing your arse of watching us get spanked 5-1 by Peterborough or stay at home and watch united for free then you'll probably choose united (Bearing in mind you had no connection to oldham other than its your hometown). Plus add in other things like easy access to merchandise and video games etc, its a much bigger problem than it once was.
I'd imagine there are quite a few who like me just feel Holden would be more suited to a coaching role rather than gaffer. I don't think the result is as drastic as "we all hate defensive dean and want him out now".
After the abysmal defending on saturday i'd be tempted to curb the 3 at the back idea for now. 4-3-3 for me.
