  1. Poor guy is still struggling in the Conference North league. Not one of Sheridans inspired loans methinks.
  2. Read that Joe Jacobson wants to stick around and fight for a place in the team. Also that some of the others would too but would be happy to go out on loan. source was one of the Jewish mags.
  3. Decibels are a logarithmic measurement and 5 db at that end of the scale is quite a big difference actually. It WILL cause hearing damage to some people if exposed to them regularly at matches.
  4. A notable absentee on the list has to be Bob Ledger.
  5. I would like to see him swapping wings too. It would make it much more difficult for teams nuetralize him the way so many have.
  6. It has to be Alan Lawson. I can remember him being such a thug it was being embarassing to watch.
  7. I have had a few problems similar over the years and ended up having to do what you did and open a new account as I never got any replys to emails I sent. fortunately on each occasion for inexplicable reasons out the blue sometimes several days later my old account would become accessible.
  8. [sorry but did I say that I did not rate Eardley highly? As a matter of fact I do and since he left there has been a gaping hole at right back. Lee is the first player to come anywhere near filling his shoes and in my humble opinion has the potential to go on to be as good if not better than Eardley. As an echo to your post Taking nothing away from Eardley, just annoys me that even now people don't see what we HAVE in Kieran Lee.
  9. Some very sensible decisions and work going on at boundry park at the minute. Maybe we are better without a manager!!! This is the best news yet though and I think Kieran Lee has shown that he is the first player who can fill Neil Eardleys shoes and potentially go one better.
  10. I think it is not unheard of that a resignation by a member of a board is followed by that member being involved in a takover bid. You never know.....
  11. I would have thought that if this was true that Taylor would be in a position to sue if he is being forced to play and risk permanent damage or information regarding the extent of the injury and rest neccessary was witheld.
  12. His positional sense seems pretty good. He gets into good scoring positions more then anybody in the team but is totally incapable of actually scoring which tends to defeat the objective really.
  13. Today the back four were pretty solid. The strikers made themselves a handful without creating too much but what was happening in the midfield? There seemed to be no plan, no shape, no organisation and NO ONE playing like a winger. The nearest thing to wing play was in the second after Colbeck went off and Lee got forward once or twice. I was really pleased for Lee today. He played with a cool head and made Colbeck look like a headless chicken with him on the right.
  14. I would say so. I think the feel good factor works both ways. For me I think the council has always underestimated the importance of the football club and it's success to the town but I also think that if the town was on the up we would see more interest in the club.
  15. So what happens at the end of the month? If he goes back after a successful loan spell with us things will look pretty grim on the striker front methinks.
  16. The ONLY relevant place to check the tempreture is on the pitch in the precise area the ref has concerns for. You can have vast differences in temperature over just an area of 50 square metres let alone a mile or more and the frost will tend to be worse at the lowest part of the area and not the highest or where the sun cannot reach it. So to try to say you know better than the people in a position to judge is really just ridiculous and being controversial for the sake of it.
  17. I see your back. Ah well thought it was too good to be true.
  18. If it is true I just can't find the words to express my relief at certain exits from the site but something tells me that............
  19. I saw this quote regarding the Notts County takeover and I have to agree with the poster. comment by ClockEndMike (U11210819) posted 4 Hours Ago As another neutral observer, I'd support the points made by NORWICHFANON606 -- the prospect of a club, whether it's Notts County, Man City, or Madrid, living way beyond its means simply harms football as a whole. If Notts Co start paying wages of 40kpw and more to their players, soon that will be the expectation of players throughout League 2. Transfer fees will rocket, and clubs who aren't bankrolled by sugar daddies will either not be able to compete or will go bankrupt trying. How can this be good for football? Indeed, how can it be good for Notts County, in the long run? I don't think so. This is not envy, or spite, just good business sense. As a long-time Arsenal fan, I wholeheartedly applaud my club's determination to live within its income, and would strongly reject any approach by a certain Russian (or any other party) to bankroll the club, even if it means we can't afford to pay £80m for a Ronaldo or a Messi. I would urge Notts County supporters to temper their excitement and urge the club to live within its means, and not to seek to buy success at any cost. Where's the sport in that? I would not want this to happen at Oldham for all the same reasons. I think in the end it will be self destructive for the football in the UK if sugar daddies become the precedent for success at a club.
  20. Just emailed this to the Chron. Maybe we should all send something? "I am very disappointed with the general negativity continually spewing out of the paper with most matters concerning Oldham Athletic Football club but it now seems to have hit an all time low with the Uninformed pre-emptive journalism with respect to the site of a possible new stadium development. It does your paper and arguably our most important town icon no good whatsoever. Do you have some kind of vendetta or is it just down to poor journalistic decisions? Should you not be trying harder to support initiatives that would enhance the facilties and standing of the town?"
