  1. I have it on very good authority that Stockport are days away from administration, they need to find a sizeable chunk of cash before the end of the month. They are hoping to loan Raines to Peterborough this week who will probably pay them an advance loan fee very similar to what happened when one of their lads went to Swansea. If this deal doesnt go through they could be in administration before the end of the month, there is someone waiting in the wings to takeover. I cant reveal my source but its golden.
  2. Coz we are signing Kilkenny once Davies has gone to Brighton. Robert
  3. Another key factor in all this is we have been luckier with injuries this season so far (touch wood). Robert
  4. Me Too Shezz is not going to Norwich is he ? Cant Explain this afternoons performance unless some bad news has been leaked.
  5. Everyones entitled to an opinion,my view for what its worth some peolple are just too negative. We are fifth in the league lost one game at home, only Hartlepool have scored more home goals than us.Only Leicester have lost fewer games. Fail to see how Shezz is old hat, dont know who his mates are doubt if anybody on here does. Yep hes paid a lot of money to manage a side on a small budget thats currently fifth in the league. Whittaker probably got picked for his greater experience. Agree with you about Hughes but hope he signs. Pretty sure Shezz has targets in mind, he already knows the defender he wants. As for last two seasons think he did well given what he had especially last season. As for this year lets see what position we end up in which looks at worst at the moment play offs but we will see. Interestingly almost every opposing manager had said Shezz is a good manager and they expect us to be in the mix come the end of the season. Like I said just my opinion im just a fan like everyone else on here but we all see things from another angle. Have to ask you are you a Maiden Fan Robert
  6. I think some peolpe need to understand some of the uncertainty that shezz may be operating under here. What happens if Hughes,Taylor, and eardley all go. 3key players he has to replace plus he needs a cover goalie hes admitted we need another defender. If Hughes goes and doesnt go to Donny they will recall Byfield in spite no doubt we could end up losing 4 players who played Saturday. My hope is we none of them go and we get a couple in to freshen things up especially in midfield preferably a good right winger, either way it cant be easy managing when there is so much unrest and speculation about players . I hope I a wrong but I think we have lost Hughes now surely he would have signed by now, maybe we will get good news this week as we will be a bit toothless without him. Robert
  7. I hope the players and Shez read these comments made by Swindons manager "It is important that we start the game properly on Saturday, have the right mental approach and get points out of it. "It's not a difficult game but it is a game we are more than capable of winning. "If we play a half decent game, we'll get something." Hope they dont take us seriousley despite being 10 points better off than them and 13 places higher up the league, at least shezz is always respectfull to the opposition. Robert
  8. I think I would take Whittaker over Wellens mainly because of his attitude. It may also be the case that it was easier for wellens to shine in previous latics sides.Whittaker also keeps his mouth shut and gets on with it wellens was wound up too easily and consequently went missing a lot.
  9. Hi Guys I am in Traverse City which is about 4 hours drive from Detroit,I have never logged into the chat room on match days as I listen to latics world live. I would be interested in setting up or helping to set a USA/Canadien supporters branch I have experience in building websites and already have a hosting account, is anybody else in the USA? Lags you are right in what you say about the housing market, Michigan as a whole is suffering more than most and has been for some time unemployment here is higher than anywhere else in the USA. The recent bout of gas price increases have taken a heavy toll on the motor industry and associated industries. Sadly it looks like being a long cold bleak winter, hopefully some new blood in the goverment (Obama) may help to reverse the decline. Robert
  10. Hi Martis Nice to know there is another latics fan in the USA I am in Michigan. Robert
  11. I pretty much agree what we have bought is potential, and added to the squad by filling the gaps of players departed,or about to depart (Kalala).I think Whittaker is a good signing as he is proven at this level.I suppose we have to trust Shezz's judgment on the others Fleming may turn out to be a diamond, whilst the others are pretty much unknown quantities at this level but hopefully they will do well. And are welcome additions, one thing they will add is competition, and hunger if they all come off we could be rocking. If O'Grady is to be used as a winger which is possible we could still sign another striker along with a left back and a creative midfielder. I hope that there may be at least another 2 to come that may add that extra bit of QUALITY we kept hearing we about from Shezz last season. On a different topic Lids could turn out to be a real important player for us this season if he is used right. Robert
  12. I live in Northern Michigan USA and kids soccer is growing at a rapid rate, there is a commplex near me that has about 20 outdoor full size pitches that are used constantly over the weekend. The demand is such that they are currently extending the number of pitches to cope with demand. This facility is used by all ages and shows just how popular soccer has become in the USA especially in this area where it has become the nuber one sport in the under 13 bracket.I see more and more soccer tops on kids than I used to a few years ago.I am sure there are plenty of players who could play the pro game in leagues 1,2 and possibly the championship outside of the current national USA team. Robert
  13. Dont see a problem with Wadsworth coming back in some kind of scouting capacitywhich enables us to make use of his connections, wouldnt be too keen on him interfering with SHezz's role though.I hope Shezz has the final say on this if in fact it is an option. Maybe Wadsworth is just trying to fix his players up and there looks like a couple we could take. The South American midfielder looks interesting, think I would pass on Murray now, As for Danny Hall was really suprised when he was allowed to leave remember the game against Bolton in the cup he had an absolute stormer one of the best displays from a defender in a blue shirt for a long time, reminded of a certain Richard Jobson. I honestly believe we will go for it next year which is why none of the Trotman fee was spent and there could be an interesting addition to the squad in the summer, just a hunch dont know anything. Shezz has said he wants to go out of this league in style and to be honest the way the season has gone with injuries I think its a miracle we are not fighting relegation never mind a few points of the play offs.Think next season will be a lot different. Just my 2 cents Robert
  14. Not lasted long anywhere since he left us has he. Very strange he should get the boot so soon, wonder i there is anymore to this. Robert
  15. Still think the play offs are possible, especially having just murdered the team that was third and losing narrowly to the champions elect. May be blind optimism but there you go. I think shezz has signed two quality players in Jarret and Livermore who I am sure will do well for us over the next three months. On the striker situation its very difficult there arnt that many around ,maybe we should have tr ied for Glenn Murray when we had some leverage with Lomax and Holness. Robert
  16. Played well today by all accounts maybe on another day would have got a point. That said not too despondent. I still think Clarke is the guy we should sign, cant believe some of the negativety towards him,but then again thats football all about opinions. His goal ratio in this league is as good as you could expect. And from what I remember he caused us problems at home when we played Southend.I would certainley prefer him to Moore even though he wold cost us more. There arnt too many strikers around with his qualities at price we can afford ,Murray might have been a good shout but not at 300k,Elding was another one but he hasnt done it at this level, wether he does at Leeds remains to be seen .Be interesting to see who Shezz comes up with.I think Parker is beyond our resources Robert
  17. Relatively happy Jarret is a good signing, and Livermore looks to be another. The Trotman money was only available at the last minute so you cant really count that as funds being available to use immediateley. Look how forrest struggledd to spend money over the last month or so. To be honest I was happy the Moore deal fell through was somewhat underwhelmed by that proposed deal, the trannies are welcome to him. I would have much preffered a loan deal for the lad from Liverpool. Think we we still get someone in a week or so,just glad Shezz kept his head and didnt blow his stash on panic buys.We should have a bit to play wiith for next season now when the money will be better spent hopefully. Robert
  18. Could do a job for us, looks very Porterish.I wonder who the other striker is we were chasing, that deal looks dead now. A lot of deadline day deals turn out to be a waste of time so maybe shezz and the tta have decided to hang onto the cash for next season.Think its pointless blowing 100-200k on someone who could be a gamble. Rather see the money spent close season and go up as champions.Guess we will see what midnight brings us,still think we need a winger. Robert
  19. Never heard of him, anyone know anything. Robert
  20. Good deal for us,and a good move for the lad.Hope he goes on to fulfill his promise. Good luck Neal Robert
  21. Sounds like common sense to me,and sound financial management.Shezz will be able to bring in another 3 players and good ones at that.Trotman will go on to be a star if he continues his progress no doubt. Taking nothing away from Trotman at all by saying this, centre halves at this level relatively easy to find.As we have seen with Hazell. We have to take the money now while we can look what happened before . Good luck Neil Robert
