  1. I can't believe we've got a striker who's hit double figures by OCTOBER. We've finally got the goal scorer we've desperately needed for about a decade
  2. I think the aggregate score to Dons at their place must be in the hundreds by now, hopefully we can go some way to evening it out on Saturday
  3. Taking ten points from Posh, Pompey, Blackburn and Bradford is ridiculous form really isn't it, I doubt we'll have a tougher run of games than that this season. If we beat the Franchise on Saturday i think i might haemorrhage
  4. I'm going to be more blunt actually because I can't stand him; Ollie Banks is shit. Properly shit. One of the worst players I've seen play for Latics, and a coward to boot. Why he's being brought up after we've won four on the trot without him I don't know fuck off Banks
  5. Awesome performance, unfair to really pick anyone out today but i thought Davies, Gardner and Fane were immense today. I've not really read the whole thread but are people still really suggesting Banks the non-league player (well, pub league player) is better than Fane? I haven't mentioned Byrne in that group because he's an absolute class above. What a joy to watch, the best player we've had in years if Wellens doesn't get the job it's a travesty
  6. Ridiculous, the best player we've had in a long time. The whole team was great today but he was head and shoulders above everyone on the field
  7. That's nonsense though, the only one using hyperbole here is you. People are simply pointing out that it makes no sense to appoint one inexperienced manager with no track record to speak of over another who has come in, got a reaction from the players and a couple of results and already knows the club and players, just because the former has a 'higher profile', which as far as I'm aware counts for absolutely cock all when it comes to management
  8. Seriously, why does Scholes deserve the job over anyone, not just Wellens? Just on profile alone? When has that EVER worked at this level. So we get mentioned in the newspapers for a couple of weeks before people go back to forgetting Oldham Athletic even exist, woohoo
  9. He's won three games in a row with a team that had previously won one all season (all whilst playing some brilliant football), has obviously got a reaction from the players and he already knows the club/players. I think the argument is that it's pretty redundant to give it to another inexperienced manager in Scholes just because he's a name
  10. I seriously don't see what he'd bring to the table at all. If we're giving it to an inexperienced manager I'd like to see how Wellens does. If we're appointing someone on their name alone give it to see Seedorf, at least he's managed before and isn't a total charisma vacuum
  11. If it means I never have to sit through his punditry again then I'm all for it. Just so long as he doesn't do interviews either
  12. I thought Doyle and Gardner were our best players, and the other two lads in midfield also looked promising. It's no coincidence once Banks went off we looked better, he has to be the worst player in this entire division, an absolute wet blanket of a footballer. Gerrard can sling it too Plenty off positives though. We might actually have a proper striker!! oh, also one of the worst refereeing performances I've ever seen
  13. This genuinely feels worse than the starts under Kelly and Robinson. At least under those two they had an idea of a formation. If there isn't big changes made before Thursday we're finally gonna get the fuck out of this division
  14. I don't understand how anyone could applaud that shite off today. That was one the most disgusting disgusting displays I've seen following this club for 20 years now (I'm 26). A spirited ten minute spell doesn't make up for the most gutless display I've ever watched supporting Latics. I not only paid £22 to watch that shit, I had to shell out another £20 in a black cab cause the fucking trains weren't running. Fuck off Latics
  15. Robinson wasn't it? But Shez seems to rate him, which is worrying.
  16. I didn't bother today, because no way am I paying £24 to watch a result I could've predicted days ago, or to watch any team in which Ollie fucking Banks is STILL getting a starting role. I'm going to Blackpool next week for some reason. I hope at least half of these '5 or 6 players' Shez was on about make an appearance
  17. Holloway is not worse than Banks, don't be silly. You'd be hard pushed to find a worse player than Banks in the entire division, he's a non league footballer.
  18. Gerrard isn't all that to be honest. I'd sooner have Wilson back there, or one of Stott or Edmondson
  19. Just to add, I think Shez got it wrong. He should've gone 4-4-2 from the start, McLaughlin isn't the type of player that can play a free role/off the strikers. Once Gardner's available have him and Fane in the centre, McLaughlin and Tope on the flanks
  20. Everyone bar the keeper, Fane, Duffus when he came on and possibly Hunt was garbage, and yet Ollie Banks still stands out like a festering turd. We've got a non-league midfielder starting games in the 3rd tier. It's troubling
  21. I'll happily drive them wherever. And I can't drive if Ollie Banks is anywhere near our first team next season I fear the worst
  22. Probably not the last 20 years, but Dieng was a massive loss last season. First choice in a play-off midfield while we had Ollie Banks spraying the ball into the 409 bus stop. Great
  23. 68 people want to bring Taylor back, Jesus wept. An absolute waste of a shirt, it's a travesty that he's keeping Tope out of the team Personally I'd keep everyone but Taylor, Flynn, Banks and Reckord. Oh and Ngoo, obviously
