  1. I don't like VAR but don't get the tolerance argument also. If you're offside even by the smallest of margins, you're offside
  2. Surely that would be harder to judge initially ? Offside is probably the best thing that VAR consistently get right but we still have reservations on it's use, at least I do. The one rule change I'd make is no attacking players allowed in the six yard box when a corner is being taken. This would encourage attackers to actually move towards the flight of the ball instead of blocking the goalie and allow goalies to come to catch the ball instead of pushing attackers then falling to the ground claiming a foul.
  3. Who's getting on his back. I just don't like grown men behaving like children ( who, incidentally, do grow up to be adults mostly !).
  4. Whether they deserve respect or not constant whinging gets a booking or worse. It's not a very professional attitude, more schoolboy than experienced pro.
  5. Not much excuse for getting booked for continually whinging at the ref.
  6. Have to take issue with the above, he is a poor passer of the ball.....but well worth his place in our current team.
  7. I've maintained all along that it really doesn't matter that much how good the cross is (we've no one who is a good header of a ball ) just get it in the box and Norwood will pick up the pieces.
  8. Constantly whinging at the ref can be counterproductive so the ref showed a bit of sense at least that once on Saturday. The rest of his performance was dire, players feigning head injuries whilst defending their penalty areas*, falling down with little or no physical contact and, although the penalty was debateable, he couldn't wait to give it instead of waiting a bit to give it more consideration. * If a player goes down and play gets stopped the mandatory 30 second rule should apply, if they go down holding their head they should be taken off the field and fully assessed the same as rugby players.
  9. Wonder if he's carrying a bit of an injury as he's needed treatment a couple of times when he's gone down. He does need to go at his full back when one on one a lot more but this has seemed to run throughout the team quite a bit when they look for the easy pass back or sideways rather than "have a go".
  10. I doubt any two of our fans have exactly the same views about everything about our club or it's players so it's a bit pointless randomly criticizing the views of some just because they aren't aligned with our own.
  11. Whilst not disputing his lack of overall impact I think you could easily double your assessments of taking his man on and getting decent crosses in. In the first half especially he seemed reluctant to take his man on and looked to play the ball back to Freeman or inside to Sheron. Freeman too had a chance very early into the match to have a dig when approaching the penalty area but chose to play the ball wide to Green. When I played we were constantly bollocking our full backs as they chose to shoot on virtually every occasion.
  12. Problem is it's happening more and more often at our matches and needs checking now before someone is actually injured. The rules are fairly simple don't go on the pitch.
  13. Mate I'm 70 years old but you are the definition of a football dinosaur !!
  14. Think Fondop's disciplinary problems stem from the fact that he tries to bully opponents too much. He's such a big unit if he just concentrated on going for the ball defenders would bounce off him.
  15. A striker like Norwood basically just needs the rest of the team to get the ball in the opposition's penalty area by whatever means and he'll pick up rebounds etc. and score plenty. Good strikers thrive by being a bit quicker than defenders and anticipating where the ball is going.
  16. He couldn't, haven't you realized he speaks a different language !
  17. Bit harsh on Lundstram.............but I didn't go last night.
  18. Didn't think you could appeal second yellows, only straight reds ?
  19. Would have liked to have seen the first draft if that was the edited version.
  20. No meant Sheron, Lundstram and Dickenson with McGahey holding.
