  1. He's hardly figured under the last 3 managers so would seem to be to free up a squad place. He's a limited player who's capable of scoring a worldie but not finding his teammates with a ten yard pass and oblivious to any defensive duties.
  2. A bit condescending BP yet you manage to take umbrage at plenty of things. You don't have to reply to posters who don't share your views on the game.
  3. Obviously was as United fans they never get a decision in their favour !!
  4. One of Melon's biggest problems is getting players to take the ball on the half turn thus looking to take on the opposition instead of facing our goalie or the team mate who's just passed to him. I'm not sure whether this was due to previous coaching or just taking the easy options. It makes me laugh when posters castigate the "get it forward" brigade when all most of them want is to turn, or even look, forward and get at the opposition. I'm pretty confident Melon is assessing the team, and it's lack of invention, and take the necessary steps to remedy the problem and could rescue the situation and make the play-offs this season.
  5. First part don't know but Gardner and Ward got game time and Dickenson is available.
  6. Think I may have had a pint in there a few years ago on the way to the races if it's the one on the right after leaving the station. Really cheap beer and free snooker !
  7. Kean Bryan announces his retirement from the game due to injuries today, his 27th birthday.
  8. Same with ice hockey........not even 50% of Paisley Pirates aaaaarrrrrggggghhhhh !
  9. It is funny watching The Big Match Revisited, seeing the ridiculous decisions some officials made and Brian Moore sometimes saying he didn't "fully agree" with them. With VAR the onus has moved from refs making biased decisions for the "big" teams to refs in a bunker doing exactly the same.
  10. He got a yellow for a borderline red challenge but had previously been warned by the ref via his captain to stfu !
  11. No think his was "want a dick always a dick".
  12. I don't like VAR but don't get the tolerance argument also. If you're offside even by the smallest of margins, you're offside
  13. Surely that would be harder to judge initially ? Offside is probably the best thing that VAR consistently get right but we still have reservations on it's use, at least I do. The one rule change I'd make is no attacking players allowed in the six yard box when a corner is being taken. This would encourage attackers to actually move towards the flight of the ball instead of blocking the goalie and allow goalies to come to catch the ball instead of pushing attackers then falling to the ground claiming a foul.
  14. Who's getting on his back. I just don't like grown men behaving like children ( who, incidentally, do grow up to be adults mostly !).
  15. Whether they deserve respect or not constant whinging gets a booking or worse. It's not a very professional attitude, more schoolboy than experienced pro.
  16. Not much excuse for getting booked for continually whinging at the ref.
  17. Have to take issue with the above, he is a poor passer of the ball.....but well worth his place in our current team.
  18. I've maintained all along that it really doesn't matter that much how good the cross is (we've no one who is a good header of a ball ) just get it in the box and Norwood will pick up the pieces.
  19. Constantly whinging at the ref can be counterproductive so the ref showed a bit of sense at least that once on Saturday. The rest of his performance was dire, players feigning head injuries whilst defending their penalty areas*, falling down with little or no physical contact and, although the penalty was debateable, he couldn't wait to give it instead of waiting a bit to give it more consideration. * If a player goes down and play gets stopped the mandatory 30 second rule should apply, if they go down holding their head they should be taken off the field and fully assessed the same as rugby players.
