  1. Difference is Nuttall has had plenty of chances and cruises through games and Willoughby's chances have been limited and he seemed to put a bit of effort in.
  2. Suppose we'll never know unless the lad gets a game. I've not seen him play but would hope he's amongst those kids who get a chance when we're comfortably in the play-offs. As you say it's a bit different playing men's football, as Sachdev is finding out presently.
  3. That's pretty precise for a pensioner rowing a boat !!
  4. Said on Look North West ( who are doing a great job keeping the general public up to date on a weekly basis ) last night he was scheduled to land in a couple of weeks.
  5. Not noticed it really, just when Kitching's caught upfield or his winger takes him on he's not the quickest.
  6. Yes he's been consistent going forwards all season but I'm not convinced defensively. He's a bit like "Bambi on ice" and takes a while to get his feet moving.
  7. Suppose it's a big step up from U21's to first team men's football. He's a bit physically lightweight and not "bombed on" as much as I'd hoped he would, but hopefully will improve as he gains confidence. It should remain a priority when the season ends and we clear the decks!
  8. Not sure Kitching and Sachdev are up to playing full backs after Saturday's performances.
  9. Probably dropping back as a result of his match fitness and recent injury record ?
  10. He actually said you'd be hard pushed to find a performance less than 6 out of 10. You passed the test !
  11. Would agree he's a good option ( off the bench ) but his positional sense is very poor for a professional striker, constantly having to be told where to be. His lack of desire to be in and around the six yard box is a big drawback for a striker. Last night when Norwood headed a cross back across goal he was near the edge of the penalty area instead of on the penalty spot seeking a tap-in.
  12. Good news, pass on my regards to him ( he used to swap info about the dogs whilst "nicking" a toffee from our table ! ). Don't know if his mate Peter is a cricket member also but enjoyed their company.
  13. Keith's still going strong I believe, he was Stanley Mathews' understudy at Stoke !! Used to enjoy chatting with him at Belle Vue dogs until it's demise.
  14. Sunday - at BP v Halifax, then home again on the 4th and 18th February.
  15. I enjoy a bet everyday and lose most times on the horses but have a bit of success on the dogs. The secret is knowing you don't usually win, just treat it as a hobby which like any other costs money. Would agree that there's too much advertising and sponsorship around football nowadays which poses real problems for the vulnerable. One thing I've never done is chase losses which is a mugs game, just accept it's not your day when you've lost your budget.
  16. It's either him or me after Norman's last performance !!
  17. I remember one match when towards the final whistle he looked a little knackered, whereupon he bent at the waist and shook his whole body and played on seemingly invigorated. A thorough professional. RIP
  18. He's not the only one who BP1960 has upset/been blocked by, but agreed it's getting a bit boring on all sides.
  19. Neither can kick with their left peg but I'd prefer Hogan.
