  1. Couldn't agree more. Basic piss poor standards throughout the club have been evident for years.(website/pitch/catering/ticketing etc etc) Some of these are long term but some quick cheep fixes. Lets hope AL being around the place and seems like like a professional guy, will change things quickly. It will cascade down to the players and staff, and ultimately the performance on the pitch.
  2. Need 7 wins with a few draws thrown in to stay up I think. Bradford H MKD H Bury A Walsall H Blackpool H Donny H Northampton A Draws against Dale A, Southend H, and Gillingham H Job done!!
  3. We signed him then? Decent pedigree. Assume he's a defensive midfielder.....
  4. On current evidence You'd have to say no. Bring in Simon Grayson.....he's avaialble
  5. Oh the highs of yesterday and the low of today! So...... 9 games without a league win 1 league win in the last 13 4 points off safety...16 games left. Doesn't sound good, but are we really that bad? Question - Does AL stick with Wellens and if not who comes in? Needs to be done by Monday if we change IMO so at least whoever rep;laces him can bring in a few bodies of his own. Thoughts?
  6. Think we know what AL needs strengthen.... 4 days to sign some defenders who can actually defend FFS
  7. Lots of talk on here about needing more goals etc (which we do), but was anyone aware that we have conceded more goals than any other team in the top 5 divisions of English football!! Our priority needs to be recruiting defenders who can defend otherwise we will be going down. Going forward yes we are a bit short but we have enough see us through, especially if Doyle comes back for the last 8 games or so. But FFS to be worse than every other professional team in England at defending should be raising a big fuckoff red flag. Wellens needs to sort this out tactically and quick as I'd settle for a couple of boring 1 0 wins anytime at the moment.

  9. How did he play today? Tough match and circumstances for his debut?
  10. Couldn't go today but will take a point in the current circumstances. Looked pretty even on stats. How did we play?
  11. Highly unlikely as the current situation stands. Hope I'm wrong but will eat humble pie if this is announced today. Best we can hope for is an agreement based on the FL approving the takeover. Expect a very week team tomorrow and a defeat as Rotherham after a blip have found their form again
  12. Inspirational captain last season and was the key reason we stayed up IMO. As well as his leadership and goals, one of the highlights for me was the "we all need a team of Peter Clarkes etc" chant to the "we all live in yellow submarine" tune at Wimbledon last season...and he loved it! However this year in a straight choice between Gerrard and Clarke, Clarkey loses hands down this season so perhaps for the best.
  13. In view of our record of approaching ex jailbirds - could he do a job for us this season? Released by Southend today. Always looks decent when playing for us despite appearing to be a complete dick!
  14. https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/2043543/celtic-kundai-benyu-loan-oldham-season/ Seems a solid rumour....
  15. I must correct you there....that team has scored a total of 5 league goals this year!! Record this season in league games where Holloway has started..... P 6 W 0 D 1 L 5 F 4 A 11 pts 1 Sorry to be depressing
  16. Assuming AL takes control of the club at some stage over the next few weeks, what should we expect/prioritise for the 2nd half of the season? IMO 1. We should really make a push in the Checkatrade trouphy. If we can beat Leicesters kids (plus Iheanacho) I'd fancy us against anyone left in and a trip to Wembley would be a massive lift and great financially for the club. 2. If we can hold onto the loanees - Bryan and Byrne in particular, and maintain our form under Wellens - (22 points from 12 games), we can realistically finish with around 72 points....which might just squeeze into the play-offs....why not? 3. Don't be tempted to sell anyone! (unless we want to get rid!!) The current matchday squad needs to form the basis of our team for next season wherever we end up.
  17. Bit of a goal drought at the moment for us....do we think it's time to switch things around a bit and give Holloway a couple of starts? He's looked decent when he has come on and Davies has only scored 1 in his last 8 and looks devoid of confidence. I'm not his biggest fan but I'd give Holloway a go at Bradford and at home v Northampton on Saturday. Thoughts?
  18. Have we lost in tangerine yet this year in the league?? Can't recall but not 100%. I know we lost at Carlisle in the Cup.
  19. I was there today and it really wasn't that bad. Yes we were not at our best and I agree our play in the final 3rd was a bit slow and deliberate. Byrne was slow to see the passes today and held our play up occasionally. He also gave up a few times and spat his dummy out after play broke down around the Gillingham box which left us exposed on the break. However he was still our most creative player by miles and I'd rather him play than be rested. Eves was a handful in the second half and looked a good player. Gerrard needed all his experience to keep him in check as he was clearly outpaced a number of times. Agree he was our Mom today. Bryan was also excellent and Fane broke up play numerous times in midfield. We looked completely knackered at the end which is part of the problem I think. Our best 11 is a good match for anyone, and that's why Richie is reluctant to change things I think. But without Bryan, Byrne and Doyle we will really struggle against decent teams so we need to hope they will stay after Christmas. 7 days off will do us good, then a tough trip to Southend where we usually do well to get things rolling again. Plenty of dross on here from folk who clearly were not at the game. KTF
  20. Long trip for most I know but are many going down on Saturday? Usually a good ground for us. Last 8 games there we have won 4 drawn 2 and lost 2 so could be worth the trip. Should be a few OASIS crew there...
