  1. I'd rather have him than not...if he's shite then we don't play him... Sorry I don't get what anyones issue is??? ?
  2. Always gonna be the case... KTF... roll on Saturday
  3. back on topic....Yes got £25 EW on us finishing in the top 4 at 20-1
  4. The Club need to seriously look at this for the rest of the season, or they will really piss the exiles off! Why should fans be penalised just because they live away from BP and can't just pop down to the ticket office at the drop of a hat. "Open sale" should mean anyone can buy at ticket from the ticket office in person, buy online or via telephone, whichever is the most convenient. I'm fine if we allow a small window of opportunity of say 24 hours, for the local supporters who are not season ticket holders, but who go to BP regularly, to go to down to the club and get the fist chance to purchase. But to ONLY allow fans to buy from the ticket office in person is a farce, is unfair, and is so outdated it's ridiculous. Particularly for a game 250 miles from BP! Also while i'm on it, why allow people to buy 4 tickets at a time?? Surely 2 would be more reasonable to allow more fans access. I know the club is sorting out a lot of shit at the moment, and in some areas we seem to be making progress, but this sort of basic thing can be sorted out in minutes, the process clarified to the fans via the website, and ultimately it makes more fans happier and feel part of the club. Note to AL...."alienating fans who have probably supported the club for decades but don't live around Oldham is not really the right strategy". Rant over.
  5. Gerrard has openly said on his Twitter feed he will not be tweeting or replying to anyone until the end of his contract with us. With everything else going on at the club with him think we can safely say he wont be in the match day squad again!!
  6. Obviously rated by Leicester as he's got a new 3 year deal there so with Rhodes to help him I'm well happy with this.
  7. Agree with Yarddog. A decent player at our level, who has served us well on many occasions. However can't keep his mouth shut, and goes about airing his views in completely the wrong way. Thinks he's better than he is. Had the personality and stature to be the man to bring everyone together at the end of last season, to get the 1 win that would have kept us up.....but didn't and I've no doubt made things worse with his comments and antics at certain times. I'm all for pushing on with the young guns this season, led by Clarke who intelligence, personality and leadership wise, stands head and shoulders above Gerrard. Definately not unhappy he's leaving as we start afresh.
  8. Yep remember that...think it was the league Cup? Queue outside the tubestation wasn't particularly friendly in my latics shirt either!!
  9. Anyone know why Baxter and Byrne didn't play? Sorry if I missed it somewhere...
  10. Neither am I but its great entertainment.....give it a try...you might surprise yourself lol
  11. So what will you be watching tonight....Neymar and Hazard rolling around...or a scantily clad Megan and Georgia putting it about #Meganyouwould
  12. Just saw that amazing. Over 5,000 sold apparently! Year before 1,200 sold. Shows what you can do with a good marketing department.
  13. Good to know. How are Baxter and Bryne getting on? If they can somehow play together then we should at least score a few....
  14. Just what we needed.......or perhaps lets go and sign a French lad from the 5th tier instead!! Kelly still a top player at L1/2 level.
  15. Is it me or does he look like Nepo's twin brother? Or in fact are all the French lads actually the same person, and AL is pocketing agents commission on each one of them??!! Uninspired signing but a start I guess......
  16. Loving Yeovil away on Tuesday night.....NOT!!
  17. No problem Max.....and I wholeheartedly agree!
  18. Sometimes Max everything in the garden isn't always rosy! I'm glad your life works on remaining positive and promoting positivity to everyone you meet. Your lucky this works for you personally. However some of us live in the real world, and with Latics there is very little to be positive about at the moment. I'm also a fan, of 40 years plus, and its my view that those "lucky" enough to be involved with running of our club, have been, and still seem to still be making a complete fuck up of things. Watching the team play regularly over the past 10 years, I am sure most will agree that it's been a pretty bloody difficult place to be positive in over this time time ....with the exception of one or two amazing results or performances. We can all hope that things get better quickly at the club...lets be honest they cant get much worse (says with hands covering his eyes), but this forum allows us all to have an opinion either positive or negative, and get things off our chests now and again. Also it may not be reflection of peoples life outside of the forum. Football is an emotive subject and knee jerk reactions and comments are common place on here which is why we read and post on here. Long may it continue as the world would be pretty boring place if we all had the same lovely views on things...and I'll still have a few beers and relax over the summer with my family regardless.
  19. Very good informative piece as usual Singe. As long as we stabilise things from here on in, and AL can afford it of course, I couldn't give a toss what he spends as long as things improve on the pitch. Time will tell i guess.
  20. Ossie Ardiles for me at BP in the FA Cup tie on the old plastic pitch. Ball was pretty much glued to his foot for 90 mins! Away from home agree with some others Andrei Kanchelskis at Maine Road in the FA Cup semi reply....tore us apart that night
  21. Wonder if another World Cup winner will ever grace Boundary Park! In fact wonder if any sort of bloody winner will? RIP a true gent.
