  1. I wonder what the lowest ever tally for top goalscorer is? When they hand out the award at this year's Thank God It's Over Awards Show they will be able to fit the winner's in one small video package.
  2. As far as I'm aware most clubs go past the deadline, and usually end up paying it late. Rochdale usually send a the money with the remaining tickets. They are it seems better run in most ways, it's a shame how low we have sunk in recent years. It can't help the club that all our biggest home games are coming one after the other, as good as it is we are getting a bumper pay out now, this money that no doubt would have helped over the course of the season.
  3. Whether it works or not, it is obvious they are trying something so fair play. So far I have seen both Millwall and Cardiif put together video packages, we have only just explained how Finance works. It is just so tin pot, small minded and defeatist. If the club aren't excited that Season Tickets are on sale, why should I be? That's why a Marketing Campaign is important, it shows people that you are excited and optimistic about the product. In this case the 2017/18 season, if the club are half arsed about how STs are sold, why would next season be any different? The main sticking point for me is that we have a Marketing Expert as our CEO, and yet we do nothing different, the odd occasion we do we muck it up. So what expertise is he bringing? Besides being there and cheap? Also as much as I like Simon Brooke, he is also in Marketing, why has the club not used his services? His choice or theirs?
  4. QPR used information on ticket purchases to advertise to people in depending on their pattern eg. a man taking his two kids to x number of games could spend this much more and take them to all the home games. They had comic strips made up for different situations and emailed them out, they win award after award. Everton invited fans to a party, did not advertise they were doing it, but the next year many wanted to be involved so they bought their tickets online early on, hoping to get an invite. As supporters we are looking for a reason to buy one, the responsible part of our brains tells us not to. All I want is for the club to entice me, the discount doesn't because the saving only takes away from the club anyway. Just give me an actual advertising campaign, remember the video for the scoreboard fund? Something like that, throw in a few old clips from past years and that slogan may make sense. The whole point of buying a season ticket is it could be our year, and we want to be a part of it. Play on that, and announce it a while before they go on sale, so we can save that bit of extra money, or have time to decide.
  5. Stick a training cone at LB over Reckford, I've seen one make a tackle once. I do feel for the kid, and he is better than Plummer, but he is poor. If Hunt is injured and out, than Wilson has to be the better choice, please let him be the choice. On topic of Taylor he looked a lot better on Tuesday, I do wonder how long he has left out on the wing, before being shoved into the middle more, either as the number 10 or in the center of midfield.
  6. I don't understand that one, wouldn't it be the same if you have a Season Ticket but it's a cup game? Show it to the person in your seat, they refuse to move, show it to a steward. I might be wrong, but it's probable the case is tickets have been sold already unreserved so they are keeping it that way, which is fair enough.
  7. This shaming of fans who don't want to spend their money has got to stop, while I don't base my season ticket purchase on entertainment levels, others do. It is their money, I was out of the country for a months last year and work commitments meant I was missing games on a Saturday. I came back to Robinson and some dire football, if it wasn't because I've been going to games since a young age and have nothing I'd rather do on a Saturday I'd have stopped coming. I'm going away next month and choosing that over a Season Ticket for next season, a few years ago I wouldn't have dreamt of choosing to miss a game. Fair play to those who go every game, just lay off the ones who don't.
  8. Fancy us to win this one, I think we need too as well. The run in we have is hard, and winnable games like this become must win, before Tuesday night I thought we were doomed, if we win tomorrow I'll change my mind on that for about the tenth time this season.
  9. I agree the choice of words are well poor, but this could be a case of him knowing Lafferty and knowing what he brings, while he wants to see MacLaughlin in his squad and judge him then. It's annoying, but I'll never be disappointed when one of our players represents their country, if he does sit on the bench and if there is no intention to give his debut then I'm with you. Let's just see first, before we get mad.
  10. A lot of pent up frustration, but the people in charge of made this club hard to support. While the post may have been OT, it is due to years of backing the people running the club, and defending them at every point I could. The last few months may not have been that bad in comparison to recent times, but for me they are failings on very basic marketing level, and we have a marketing bloke as our Chief Exec. That is where we should be excelling, and improving, not being the same or worse. Mcfluff, that's the point. How can the club wish to grow, but do what it has always done? Try something, if it doesn't work then at least you give it a shot. It may or may not make a difference, but we will never know.
  11. This whole thing has annoyed me, no effort has gone into this. It sums up everything off the pitch at the moment, a quick slogan, a poster and a standard picture. "Here you go peasants, here's your prices." This could be any club's season ticket campaign, it was almost a throw away article, no build up to an announcement no effort or pre-planning, these prices could have been drawn up that morning. I'm amazed the club feel this is the best way to sell their biggest product. It's just so lazy, a real lack of respect towards the fans. Would they be this lazy when trying to attract sponsors, box holders, 100 club members? For me there are too many things going on, the hiring and firing of that Fitzgerald bloke, without so much as an introduction to the fans. It was obvious they wanted to keep him a secret, so why hire him? The naming and renaming of the Rochdale Road End, no signs anywhere to say it's named after our second most successful manager and a man adored by many loyal supporters. They haven't even printed it on the tickets, the most basic thing, the pathetic statements about both Mike Keegan and Robinson that tried to pass any potential blame away from the club to anyone else. No doubt someone from the club will come out and have a pop at the fans again over the summer, the club never admits they messed up. Even Ched Evans was everyone else's fault, Darren Kelly, well he didn't tell the board he was an IRA supporter, why they didn't check his Twitter like fans did, and many potential employers? Sheridan leaving again the club did no wrong, Robinson it was his fault it did not work, not the club's for hiring him and giving him no time to build a squad, when they were chasing Evans, well it was his fault for taking his time, everyone with half an eye on what has happening outside BP knew he was after the Forest job too. Why did a Chief Exec/member of the board who once helped save the club feel AFC Flyde was a good move? Also the free game where fans were locked out, why do four or five at a time? They were asking for that happen, print all available tickets off and put them on the door, it was free, it was like advanced tickets was a gain to anyone, just a way to get people's names and contact details I suppose. I thought we as a club were moving forward, but once again a lack of thought or forward thinking has left me feeling like the odd home game and away games will be more fun next season.
  12. It was clear to everyone he was tired as anything last Saturday, even the foul for the pen was out of tiredness. We have had an awful season, truly awful, and people are picking on Taylor? I can name several players who making less of an impact than him, and he's hardly being found when he makes the runs. I get that we all enjoy sharing our views on players etc. but can we try and give him a break? He has hardly played for two years, let's assume it could take him time to get back to match fit.
  13. Also no way Bury and Port Vale stay up, Bury are on a good run of form but Lee Clark has hardly had chance to have his usual impact.
  14. He has hardly played for two years or so, give him some time. He is already better than what we had before, and has shown glimpses of the Taylor of old.
  15. I think the pitch situation sums up the running of the club perfectly, off the pitch we are in serious need of a reshape. You look at what Rochdale are doing, they have fewer staff, but are better run. Other clubs in our division too, have the same or less staff members and run a damn sight better. The money for the pitch is there somewhere, but we can't find it in part because of the amount of people we employ. How many people are needed in Commercial when the Exec boxes are sold via the OEC? It isn't personal against anyone, I'm sure everyone there works damn hard, but we are a very small local business. It's about time we start acting as one, we need a smaller staff list both on and off the pitch. Then if the North Stand starts to make money, slowly pump more into the off the field stuff, let's go back to basics. I know this will be largely unpopular, I am only basing it on what Rochdale and other similar sized clubs are doing.
  16. It only occurred to me how few top goalies I've seen when I tried to write my list: Ripley Pogs Kelly Grant and by default due to being unable to remember anyone else-Alex Cisak.
  17. They didn't even put his name on the tickets, never mind painted it on.
  18. Few ex staff at a higher level too: Lee Johnson Dean Holden David Dunn Anthony White Tom Hart Lee Nobes Marc Cuczman (spelling may be way off)
  19. Let's not panic, if it happens great. If not well the people in charge still have a club to run, personally I'd be worried about the sanity of anyone wanting to buy us.
  20. While I'm glad the club are trying to get the right one, it doesn't look good when people have given money towards it. The club do not need to release a statement every couple of weeks, but a quick article can't be that hard to knock up. Or even just a quick interview from someone, where they just say they are still looking. Personally I blame Mike Keegan.
  21. I just can't fathom why we hired him, the guy is a conman. What made the powers that be convinced he'd changed? With our Chief Exec coming from that line of work, I'd have expected him more than anyone else to hire the right person, evidently not.
  22. Erwin is frustrating as there is clearly a player there, I think his confidence has taken a battering. Players react in different ways, he checks out of games because he doubts his chances of making an impact. Others will try and power through the rut, stick him in a better more confident team and we will see a totally different player.
