  1. I think that we have a slight advantage of a settled squad nucleus of players who have played together for a season. My concern is we need solid additional players to add to said nucleus to make it a promotion winning side. Start losing more of the nucleus, the more we'll edge towards the position of last year with lots of incomings that will need more time to gel. The odd addition is fine providing it's not a complete overhaul promoting instability. The players we have are capable. The question is can Bunn get a tune out of them all?
  2. My deepest sympathies. I never knew Dave, but he talked sense and I will miss reading his updates and posts. Love and best wishes to the family. Chris
  3. An experienced player who has looked decent in the two games we've played. Yes it's early doors but the lad could do us a job. What frustrates me is people's reactions. If it's a #Frenchlad people spit. If it's league experienced player people brand it as an unacceptable signing. We've already been told by AL that he's not a billionaire, if he was, he wouldn't be our owner. We aren't going to go bonkers signing championship/upper L1 players. Very unlikely we'll see the likes of Doyle or Ripley type players this year. I just don't see what people are expecting. Welcome Giles Coke.
  4. Does anyone know if we've actually signed Ismaeel Miller or not?
  5. Welcome and good luck Sam! Season long loan means Bunn sees something that we don't already have with the lads we have already got. Now to sign a striker. Onwards...
  6. Didn't we get him as part of a swap deal for someone?
  7. The Frankfurt fans did a great job of turning part of The RRE into a beer tent if memory serves, and it was really popular. There is lots of space there to do something like that permanently. I know nothing about licencing and health and safety or business, mind, so there could be issues I can't contemplate with my lack of knowledge.
  8. I don't get the instant negativity at all. The bloke has barely had chance to fart in his office chair before people want him out. The bloke has been in and around football for a very long time. He's coached and developed his trade. He's not a shiney new rookie who has just passed his coaching badges. He'll say it how it is and he won't feel like he has to be 'mates' with the players because he is a few years older than them. He's old school, yes. He's not managed at league level but he is Oldham. He knows the club. He's proud to be here and enthusiastic. I'd take that over anyone who has no affinity with the club and in it as a stepping stone to another job. I don't see Frank doing that. He's got my backing and I'll be supporting the squad he puts out. Frankie Bunn's Blue and White Army.
  9. Not until he calls due diligence on the supply of said stocks...

  11. I'm exactly with you on this one, Glossop. My optimism and rationalism is beginning to slide into the doubting, pessimist side. Clarke, as professional and committed as he has been as a player would just be the same appointment as Wellens was. Inexperienced and unproven. I'd still keep him on as captain as a leader is something we are lacking but Clarke would be a better leader on the pitch or as an assistant in coaching sessions. For me, we need someone now with a bit of know how and experience to steady the ship, bring in a few wiley, resourceful players and just have a good old-fashioned go at going back up. I don't even care if the football is ugly and we grind out results every week.
  12. As my children refused to let me sleep last night l, I've thought of something else that concerns me. The Baxter deal... Does this still go through now RW is no longer in charge? He has agreed a deal 'in principle' RW worked to bring him in... I know it's only a small part of a bigger picture, but it's the only feel good thing that's happened to us since relegation. I don't think we could all take that falling through.
  13. I'm surprised it's now that he has gone. If you were to make the decision, it could have been made in the days after Northampton. It must be that AL has had someone lined up and they are now available. I do feel a little sorry for Richie. Although we did go down with him in charge, he had a very difficult job in trying to keep us up in the climate that we found ourselves in. I wish him good luck where ever he goes. And equally more to the bloke that takes over from him.
  14. One player that used to stick in my mind for being a pain in the arse was Andy Payton at Burnley. For what I can remember he always seemed to make playing against us look like a walk in the park. Tommy Lee at Chesterfield always turned into Neuer when playing against us.
  15. If he's been removed, how does he know that the players haven't been paid? I'm guessing he has no involvement at all anymore?
  16. I'm not suggesting a vendetta, mearly citing that it's odd that these rumblings always seem to be publised by the same illumini ie it always gets brought to the attention of the public by order of the Scum and it's cronies. No other paper runs this shit. So who internally is flinging the mud? Mud sticks.
  17. I am aware he didn't write it. It still came from the Scum newspaper did it not? Doesn't take much to run with another Journo's story or ideas to get a story published.
  18. Yes this is correct. Anything negative eminates from him or his employer. There has to be more than a coincidence for this to keep happening.
  19. A slotted serving spoon and Swiss cheese? *I'm sorry, I'm hungry*
  20. We really must have a pissed off insider. We are leaking more than a ladle made in collaboration with an edam factory.
  21. Well it definitely won't be Kristian Dennis as he's signed for Notts county.
