  1. How can some of you be so naive?? We currently have a squad of 30 plus, only 15/16 of them play regularly. So we have half squad that the manager doesn’t rate or trust. Wellens himself has said the squad is far to big and he wants quality over quantity. Who’s he aiming that at??? Of the players that AL has brought in so far, how many are good enough?? I can think of one. Gervaro. So from his vast array contacts, we’ve found one. . And he’s hardly amazing. Does nobody find that a worry?? AL has been around the club since the summer, (we were signing mysterious forgein lads on trial in July/August) since then shez has left by mutual consent, and the next manager looks and sounds very much like shez did towards the end. We are third from bottom, can’t defend, and desperate for a win. Am I surprised this is the structure? No. I merely pointing that so far it’s been a disaster. Can it work moving forwards? Well, it has to I suppose. But it I think it has be done with a lot more thought, and the mangaer right on side. We’re not Real Madrid where you buy the best and let the manager just coach. We’re a struggling third division club, which at the minute isn’t very appealing. A reality check is needed of where we are, and how best to get us out of the shit.
  2. I think the way it’s going is a receipe for disaster. If Wellens has any chance of turning it around he to be backed with only his choices, especially in this window. If AL has to or wants to bring in 5/10/15 forgein lads in, do it in the summer on a trial basis. Take the ones we like, and let the rest go. It creates the least disruption. I wonder if RW or any manager would agree or want to work with what seems to be, ‘you can have certain amount of your choices, but you’ll have to supplement the rest of your squad with lads I bring in. I just dont don’t see that working. Now or in the future.
  3. He sounded very, very down in his interview with BBC radio Manchester. Almost beaten. . Right at the end, he was asked ‘do you think you’ve got the players to get out of it’ and he said something along lines off, ‘well, we’ve got players who’ve been through it before, so you’d like to think so’ Hardly inspiring. I just get the feeling that everything about the job is getting on top of him.
  4. He’s making some very strange almost inexpilcable decisions. .
  5. I think the answer is no. Time to go. (Unfortunately)
  6. All I want is Lee Sinnot’s calming words. . .
  7. I’d love him to turn it round, as I said earlier, them early performances were so good to watch. But 2 wins in 16 is a massive worry. Are you confident we’ll be ok?
  8. Not aimed at you but it’s; Should have could have would have. We can’t keep saying we’re playing well, or we’ve been unlucky. Them chances go for you when your winning games. As as others have alluded to, will AL want to start in league 2. .
  9. You just can’t dress it up anymore. Them early performances were some of best I can remember, but we concede far, far to many. We keep going a goal down. It’s hard to win matches when you always have to come from behind. It would be typical latics to get new investment- and then go down.
  10. The performances seem ok, but our results are a big worry. I’m starting to get very twitchy.
  11. He can go for me. He’s excellent with his back to goal, and has a decent feet, but unfortunately for him Davies does all of that but actually scores- which for a striker is handy. Why RW would replace Holloway with Clarke-Harris is bizarre. He’s to similar to Davies, which is exactly what Wellens has got now and said he didn’t want.
  12. You say that, and I agree- but we’ve got one of the worst defensive records in league. So where’s the problem?
  13. There’s no way we can afford to pay Flynn off, sign Byrne, McEleney and loan Pringle and the lad from Celtic. Unless. . ??
  14. Absolutely spot on. He says it exactly as it. I don’t disagree with a single word he says in that interview. I don’t feel sorry for him, because he must of come into this club/job/shitstorm with his eyes wide open, if he didn’t then he’s naive. But I do really hope we give him something to work with. Because it’s blindingly obvious he’s good at his job if he’s given even a half decent team to work with.
  15. So frustrating! But you take quality out of the side, and this is what you get. Hard working 1-0 defeats- the like we’ve been used to for so long. The new signings can’t come quick enough. P.s Do we ever beat a Robinson side? ?
  16. I must admit my arse is starting to twitch a bit. We look a shadow of the side we were a month ago. Although two wins and all is rosy again- it’s just getting them. . .
  17. Sorry, I don’t understand that view. They have a empty unit. One that has been empty since it was built, and didn’t look like being used in the near future. The trust has put a lot of time and effort into creating something to fill the empty unit, and it could make the OEC money that it doesn’t seem capable of generating itself. Should it take off, I would fully expect the OEC to take it’s share. However for the Trust to show this sort intitiave, and considering it could be a win win. It feels like blatant profiteering, on the back of people’s hard work and dedication. I think its a real shame, and a missed opportunity to get some real positivity between fans and club again. Hope it goes well today.
  18. It might of been nice of the ‘OEC’ to donate all the funds from the initial opening of the bar to the trust. As a goodwill gesture, and a thank you for their hard work. But alas they must really need the relative drop in the ocean. Well done to those of you involved in setting this up. Your a credit to the club.
  19. In what sense? That we would never be successful again? Or something else? I felt something similar at the time. But on refelection it was what he created ‘we’re in it together’ ‘one club one dream’ rather than the football IMO. Until near the end he was very good at masking the shit behind the scenes and making us feel we were going places. When we in reality nothing had changed. Very good at leading and managing the club as a whole for a time, but it did mask the football IMO.
