  1. Marshall started at centre half then Royle moved him up front where he belonged
  2. yes, some mammoth tasks for prospective managers at those clubs
  3. Well, after this season, all the negative publicity (true or not) we are led to believe its the most poisonous of poison chalices
  4. Does he actually want it? Struggling to believe he would be interested
  5. He kept them up, just, but they didn't exactly shoot up the table. That said, not sure of the quality of the players he had at his disposal so maybe he did a better job than the table shows. Might bring Andy Cole with him too.
  6. Yes styled on the original latics kit I think. watched us draw 3-3 against Man City at main rd, they wore that kit then.
  7. Blue and white. Red and white is rugby , the tangerine element was I believe added by a mr ken bates in the seventies? I still love the plain blue shirt with the old owl on it, plain white shorts and white socks, oh and BLACK football boots!
  8. Id imagine if they have been granted access to the books, there wont be too much of an issue on a basic financial level, otherwise they wouldn't be allowed access?
  9. This word "structuring" keeps popping up, its about as ambiguous as it gets. The trust notes also mention another word - stability - if that's the aim of the club they have achieved the opposite this season, in quite spectacular fashion.
  10. I was under the impression that PW and Clarke had a very good working relationship? Pure guesswork on mine and most peoples part but I thought the captain/manager dynamic with those two was driving the rest of the squad
  11. Maybe, and good luck to him, he deserves it. I just don't think he will have his wages matched.
  12. Photoshoot? sound like a couple of models. We will really miss Clarke next season, but I doubt very much at his age any excessive wage demands will be met by other clubs
  13. I think that's short changing him a tad, he's pulled some pretty good performances out of what I think is overall an average squad. Each of the three - I thinks its three - managers this season has had pretty much the same or similar squad and on balance Wild has got the best out of them. As for contacts, well who knows? I think Wild has done his reputation no harm whatsoever this season in difficult circumstances to say the least.
  14. This is the thing, I think Wild has shown he is quite astute and given a reasonable budget could make some good sensible signings. Any appointment is a risk regardless of credentials but I struggle to see who could come here and actually do better than Wild has done, particularly with our owner who definitely seems to be an "acquired taste"
  15. Don't think we will ever know what hes got to be honest. I think he stated somewhere that he had invested his life savings into the club, whether it was all his savings, I doubt it very much! Its a sign of the times though when a "small" fourth tier club like ours can still end up being a bottomless pit and just breaking even each month can be a challenge.
  16. He's spent his life savings apparently!
  17. Its about as uncertain as its ever been, and that's saying something for us!
  18. Disappointing but still think Wild should be at the helm next season, hopefully with a more reliable consistent squad - some players turn up more often than others. Changes made too late today by the sounds of it but he is learning. Thought we might produce today but such is life with Latics
  19. Tommy Wright lobbing the keeper is in my head. Pitch black on the snake pass coming home.
