  1. Cinema seats are excruciatingly painful. It's like they were designed to make you fidget and annoy everyone around you. Should've took advice from robaclub fc
  2. Been 3 times and seen us conceded 5 6 and 7. If we keep it under 5 it's an improvement
  3. It's catch 22 choose Doyle and you lose Byrne who is doing the engine work providing assists for him. Lose Doyle and you are giving up potentially a 25 goal a year striker. If we ever needed to keep players in Jan it's these 2
  4. No guarantee there will be one in place for Blackburn. If wellens keeps winning why would they rush it?
  5. Yet im guessing we have had a few born since our relegation sad really
  6. If wellens is in contention for manager of the month for october id say we possibly have the nouse to do something this season. Until then it's just 2 good performances However the last 2 games have shown a real turn around and clearly we can do it. We just need to do it regularly
  7. Can this really happen? I didn't go today but a mate of mine who is a neutral reckons we are good bets for promotion (going off 1 performance) We have been linked with world class involvement and have improved 10 fold since the potential involvement was announced. So how far can we Go?
  8. Be interesting to see how many latics fans would support this cos the guy has absolutely no pedigree as a manager whatsoever. Would be 100% a media ploy with not an ounce of a footballing decision behind it. One things for sure though soon enough we will be leaving this division. Either cos he has the financial clout and contacts to do it the right way, or because he is turning us into a circus and going down. It's gunna be interesting. In a good way? I'm not so sure
  9. Wonder if you would ever get 4 blokes in a pub pre game correcting each other on the use of an adverb and whether it should be a capital letter on "men" above The toilet door. Tbh the last thing I worry about on here is whether or not I've grammer checked and I ain't gunna change any time soon.
  10. Chris Taylor had a barnstorming debut. Ran rings round forest in a 5 0 win I think
  11. Not having that. The approach changed drastically for me. I say 4 at the back because it was a very fluid defence. Depending on which wing we attacked the other wing sat deep and covered, along with the 3 static centre halves. That's how I saw it anyway. The approach was different, using all major of attacks rather than repeating the same failing approach time and again. The personnel changed as did player positions. Pointing out placide as the only change is very narrow minded.
  12. Just noticed we have already scored half the amount of goals that we did the whole of last season. We have scored the same amount of goals it took us until January to score last time out. We look like scoring in every game and oldham nil... is hopefully a thing of the past. Davies took time to settle in but since Doyle came in they have stuck up a partnership that could really see us challenging if we improve at the back consistently. It's been a long time since watching latics was this entertaining ( even when we are losing we are scoring goals)
  13. Ripley or placide? (Prepares to batten down the hatches)
  14. It's more about what he clearly sent them out to do than the overall impact.
  15. While obviously being to early to carry out a thorough breakdown of the two, for me there were certain key things wellens tweaked that were very telling tonight. There's the obvious. The placide call, and the 4 at the back, but he had us playing much more football tonight. When we didn't have it we were hungry to get it back. We looked a physical team tonight. We also played very little long ball stuff before the red. Big thing for me though is the intent to play the killer through ball. It was his trademark as a player and it was evident tonight. We got in behind a very good team tonight and it will see us score plenty of goals if it continues. Biggest difference tonight though? I was entertained, and I can't say that often about a visit to boundary park
  16. As much as I agree going forward we were shocking at the back after the fane sub. Ultimately Sheridan subs were one of the points which led to his sacking and that was just a sample of it
  17. I mostly agree with you, but I've always been right up there when it comes to being concerned about wtf corney is doing. The guy certainly doesn't have our best interests at heart
  18. Never said I was happy? Your putting words in my mouth. It's easy to call a guy clueless after a bad start to the season. But the guy has been part of the club on and off for the past 20 years. Yes he is at the helm of a currently failing club and must shoulder a large portion of responsibility for that, but you can agree that we should part ways without slagging the guy off. He certainly doesn't deserve to be put in Tue same group of managers as Penney Dunn et al
  19. Clearly he isn't clueless to mastermind 2 miracle escapes in 2 seasons However that doesn't mean to say his time isn't coming to an end. Comments like yours are just disrespectful
  20. Just said on the other thread, action needs to be taken. I still believe he can take us forward with the right backing but I don't see him getting it. The investment is undermining everything at the club and it needs to be concluded one way or another rapidly in order for us to concentrate on saving our season
  21. Action has to be taken this week. If this uncertainty continues we are down by christmas. What the action is I don't know. I am still convinced Sheridan is the right man with backing. However, I don't see him getting that backing from any new investment. The takeover has so far ruined our season and everyone involved needs some clarity so we can all move on. We can't continue shipping 2 goals a week minimum. It's enough to send any team down
