I have probably missed something here but id be interested to know what it is. Latics were rejected planning to build a stadium on this area so why have they now cleared the land and are now seemingly commencing building works?

This summer on owtb has been dominated by the "it's a done deal" thread and I enjoyed all the speculation of will he won't he. So let's have another one cos we all love a bit of speculation. So Shey Given. Will he won't he? Tbh I'd take his experience. Regardless of age keepers can perform much later than outfield players and although it's at the top end 41 for a keeper isn't necessarily past it. At this late stage in the summer I think we could do a lot worse

Most of these players (not all) we are talking about are too young to have dependents and so only have themselves to think of in the moment. I'm not sure many will be thinking "when I get married and have kids in 5 or 10 years time I must make sure I can provide for them" Therefore a bigger factor should be if they are happy doing what they are doing. If they are happy sitting on a premier league bench or worse being 3rd or 4th choice they will stay there. If they ain't and have itchy feet they will move. I've had some jobs in the past I literally could not stand. I lasted a couple of weeks. Would I have stayed had I been on decent wage? No because it got me down that much it affected other parts of my life. It all depends on how happy or unhappy they are with their current situation. If they are that pissed off they will do something about it.

A lad I deal with in leeds every day tells me this kid is a real prospect and highly regarded by the coaching staff at Elland road. He reckons for us not to pursue him we must have something big lined up. And before you ask for a source his dad coaches the kids at leeds

I know I'll get slated for this but I never rated erwin barring a few good week towards the end of the season. He undoubtedly has potential but let's be honest he is just another run of the mill league one striker and if we didn't get him there are probably 20 others like him we could get. Baxter however is a genuine talent who seems to like it here. For all his faults his attitude is good and I would say he has a real addiction problem the club can help him through rather than being an utter moron like Hughes and ched of the past. It could be a positive story for the club as much as a bad one
