Inspiral_Carpet
Thanks for the announcement Daz. Perhaps next time you should go through your PR Man and get a proper Press Release.
RoytonBlueLad
Wasn't it said we took this out last summer? I dunno. Surely it should be easier than all this to clarify his details!?

Guest M_OAFC
Wel that's what I was told by a director of the club. Whether he's got it wrong I don't know.

Inspiral_Carpet
Neal Trotman has re-signed for Oldham for one more year after the club exercised an option in his contract. An option. So maybe there is more than one.
OldhamSheridan
and sign nobody then im joining the massed ranks of empty seats after tonight I don't understand. Are you saying that you are going to start living at Boundary Park between matches?
Takemeanywhere
and sign nobody then im joining the massed ranks of empty seats after tonight If we don't sell Trotman and do sign this midfielder, will you buy 2 seats?
Fyldelatic
An option. So maybe there is more than one. No, there is only one option to extend for 12 months. He can go on a free, and if he does Porter, the club will get nowt. Chron seems to think that club is likely to sell Trotter, reputedly for £350k, worth up to £500k based on appearances, with a hefty sell-on clause no doubt. Surely we can't match personal terms Argyle is prepared to offer, and it's a step up for the lad. Whether he gets much first team action remains to be seen, but there is every incentive for the young man to prove himself at higher level. Best of luck to him if he goes. the_mighty_bosh
I think the club MUST offer Trotters a new deal, if he rejects it then IMO we should sell for no less than £500k up front with a 20% sell on clause.

danoafc
It would. Also be a big up yours to Burnley as well and it's quite local for him. Right down to Plymouth at 20 is a huge step. Exactly what I was thinking at the time Chris. Proper rub Burnleys nose in it. 'Merked', was it?
Bring Back Ronnie Moore
I'll be happy if Trotters runs out of that tunnel tonight. Then maybe if we can really get behind the team and show some appreciation for Trotters it might go a small way into thinking he wants to sign a new deal here. futchers briefs
V Good prospect, however £350K, potentially £500k is a heck of a lot of money to turn down for a player with only 20 lge games under his belt. Sad to see him go, but good business imo!
oafcprozac
V Good prospect, however £350K, potentially £500k is a heck of a lot of money to turn down for a player with only 20 lge games under his belt. Sad to see him go, but good business imo! For those of us old enough to remember echoes of Mike Flynn's move to top-flight Norwich in late 1988 (not that long after they'd signed Andy Linighan). Flynny Only played a handful of games for us, very dangerous at set-pieces and like trotters was as strong as an ox. Went on to have a great lower league career. Flynny's replacement......................one Andy Holden. Holden was signed for 50k half the of the £100k Norwich paid. So it is possible to sell players AND still improve yer squad. PS Well done Shez decent signing in Jarrett was a cracking player at Bury and Wigan, hope the move is a success for both the club and player. Now just need that striker..........
