longtimeblue
Anyway, the best thing I've heard all year is the debut album by Songs For Walter. It's gorgeous. Sounds like a kind of more melodic Mercury Rev to my ears. The lead singer, Laurie is supremely talented. Known him a few years but if the music industry is fair (which it ain't) then he'd be sitting in a mansion and that knobhead from Catfish & The Bottlemen will be picking his weekly giro up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hsb_Ze-ENFU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LVEkibMU8ls It's good music to chill out to

Crusoe
They sound increasingly like a pub tribute band to themselves. His voice hasn't aged well.
beag_teeets
Neither has mine, or my gut. We've had 20 years without them, they were never going to rock back up with the equivalent of their debut. I want more of the same, they've given it to us, just rejoice that if you wanted to you could be seeing the Stone Roses playing a gig in Manchester next week. It's a Beautiful Thing. This may not work but they have made a short film with snippets of the new album on here: http://www.thewas.xyz/ Arse, can't embed, but worth a watch via the link, its a video cut and paste job just like their musical style. Here's a link to Subways, a lovely summery track: The Avalanches are BACK!!! Edited July 27, 2016 by beag_teeets
