opinions4u
Makes it look more like Hughes is leaving. Will we ever sign a loan striker who can last 90 minutes?
DerekWilson_1968
How can we be favourites without even having spoken to him is what I want to know? Unless some geezer at Hartlepool has said 'go to Oldham Dean' that smacks of sloppy journalism. Derek.
johnny punkster
http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/spo..._in_latics_link that rag is even less reliable than the chron when it comes to latics!

leeslover
IIRC he tends to score his goals in batches, then go quiet for a while. I shouldn't think another year and not playing much has improved his consistency.
ste1987
Would personally love this if it were to happen! can still do it in our league at his age
JohnnyPimp
I always despised him playing against us (v Bradford to stay up, anyone?) but would love to see him in an XXL Latics shirt.
Geordie Blue
FFS, people getting excited at the prospect of signing a 39 nearly 40 yr old striker. The mind boggles! Get your head tested sheridan and stay clear!!

Get your head tested sheridan and stay clear!! I suppose we needed our heads testing with Eyres too then, who could still do the job at 39. It would be a loan, for a player more than capable of still doing the job at this level. Aye..Sheridan OUT! BigfinLatic
Give me a 50 year old windass over byfield Exactly. I think here it lies. I like Byfield, but he isnt exactly pulling up any trees.... and his loan comes to an end this weekend. If you ask me whether I would like to extend the loan for Byfield... or take a punt on old windybottom... especially seeing the way we are playing where our strikers have to batter there way though a defence after a lumped ball.... well, simple isnt it... get the old XXL shirt on order... I'd then expect if old hughesy toddles off, Mr Byfield will come in as part of the deal. I also think evry single striker at the club will benifit from playing off Windass. Even if you loathe him, which most do, especially in the lower leagues he is one of the best hold up and link players around. Hughesy or Mental should have a field day playing off him. Sign him up. garcon
If he passes a basic medical, get him signed up on loan to the end of the season, with a clause that he goes back to Hull if he gets a long term injury. Tend to agree with Bigfin (that must be at least twice now... ) - he could be precisely what we need.

Windass knows how to get out of this league, even if he couldnt play week in or 90 mins but then we have Mental Lewi and O Grady to step in, Windass is a winner, Byfield hasnt cut it for me

Alec1954
Can't believe we are considering Windass. He is useless. We may as well all give in. Rather play Wolfy.
