longtimeblue
People who slag players off for greed have no idea. The trouble with supporters is that they are loyal to a club and expect players to be the same. Players are just people earning a living like everyone else it just happens that their trade is football. They will go where ever the wages are best on offer. You may be loyal to a club but honestly think about it , would you be as loyal to your employer if much higher wages were on offer and you were offered the job ?? 99% of us would do exactly the same and don't give me the crap that " i am loyal and wouldnt do it". You will pobably never get the chance to do it !! That's the difference. If a player is good enough to improve our team than i would have them back anytime. He did what he did out of spite to be an arrogant and obnoxious little :censored:.. deserves every bit of stick he gets
Stitch_KTF
Haha the bitterness just shines through there doesnt it. Is it the education? The money he is earning? His footballing ability? Damn right I'm bitter! None for any of those reasons though, not that he has a better education, or more ability. It's the fact he screwed over our club after making promises to Corney and co. Rummy's previous post just about sums it up. You should read it and stop sticking up for a despicable c**t just because he scored 5 goals more than the bare minimum you would expect from any pro in that team. EDIT - He certainly has more money though!! Yeah yeah they just bounce off his head mate my dead grandma would have scored 40 with those balls Lids was playing. Bloody hell Hughes would have had 100 if he was playing. The sheer quality of Liddells crossing that season it was harder not to score. I mean he hit the ball so well it actually just bounced in off his intended target. Apparently the Motherwell wingers are just the same too just whip it in and it bounces in like. Indeed. Any half-decent striker would have scored 15 in that side, just by being on the pitch. Hughes would have had 30+. If he was still here my pecking order would be Hughes/Windass, Hughes/Windass, Alless, Davies, Porter/O'Grady, Porter/O'Grady, Wolfy. I didn't like or rate him when he was our 'star'....he aint got much chance with me after the way he left has he? :censored:

Tommy_Fent
btw just curious, was there any proof that a Championship side made a bid for him?

I didn't like or rate him when he was our 'star'.... Agree 100%. He was lucky to be the striker in a team that was playing to the very best of it's ability for a few months. fleetwood Blue
I just cant see the attraction of going to a club like Hudders for Kevin Phillips, he would walk into most Championship teams yet instead he may opt for the sheep shaggers had quarters. I also read somewhere this week that they where preparing to bid for Leroy Lita, what would be the reasoning for going to Huddersfield for these decent players? How much money have they got to blow? Lucky you weren’t the manager or he’d have been sitting on the bench watching Chris Hall Nobody else scored when Porter wasn’t playing. Luke Becketts Anchor
Lucky you weren’t the manager or he’d have been sitting on the bench watching Chris Hall Unfortunately, I wasn't aware of Hall's lack of ambition (in terms of football anyway). Bring Back Ronnie Moore
looks like theyre after Kevin Phillips now http://www.huddersfield.vitalfootball.co.u...le.asp?a=139370 If they sign Kevin Phillips I'll eat my hat, he's the best striker in the football league. He'd net 30 in League One in just the second half of the season alone! And if Hughes stays he'll píss on Porter's 23 goals. scotty doesn't know
Does that mean we're on the same wavelength or probably it was Porter's actions that left absolutely nothing to the imagination? i dont think chris porter should have cared about latics and that it doesnt matter what team he transferred to... a transfer should mostly always be to benefit a player, why should a club be regarded? Stitch_KTF
Agree 100%. He was lucky to be the striker in a team that was playing to the very best of it's ability for a few months. Exactly. He had the best job in the team and we made him look good. A major factor in us not having 20 goal strikers in recent years is the crap teams we've had behind those, erm, crap strikers. Lucky you weren’t the manager or he’d have been sitting on the bench watching Chris Hall Nobody else scored when Porter wasn’t playing. I too used to call for Hall to play I thought he could have been the bogs dollocks. Turned out he was a weirdo.
Rick
I have NOT read through this Thread as I am completely bored with all the rubbish about Porter. It is time everyone grew up and moved on. This person used to play for Latics, but doesn't anymore. END OF STORY - GET A LIFE AND MOVE ON
