I was there last night. And although I didnt see any fisty-cuffs , I did see as I was leaving...

Hughes, escorted out of the players 'banqueting' room by Crossley , to be met by a security man and told to leave. Crossley then took Hughes to the top of the stairs and as I passed I heard Hughes stating 'its not f'in right, I didnt do anything'. Crossley was trying to calm him down.

As I exited into the car park, all the security were buzzing around and Gregan was stood on his own outside leaning against a wall...

Earlier in the night Hughes had been 'mingling' and having his picture took with fans etc.. He then sat at one of the tables near me and started shouting (top of his voice) 'Anarchy' or something like that at all the other players. Then, Tommy Wright came down and 'had a word' then a bit later , Someone from Belle Vue came down and asked him to leave... He just had a laugh and tried to kiss her and had his photo took with her. No bad problems there then, infact Hughes was about the only player who got amongst us plebs and talked to people. I wont mention the inncident with him walking out of the gents with his old fella out...!!

All in all a great night and no major story to tell..

I can see the headline now:

Hughes getting involved, when it was nothing to do with him- shocker!

Sounds like he might be in the market for a pair of plastic tits before long.

Or "Hughes defends team mate - shocker"

Mine originally looks more of a dig at Hughes than was intended. Meant to be more light hearted.

I don't see how Gregan can remain be captain.

Who should replace him, if that happens?

Christ on a bloody bike.

I bet none of us have ever worked at a place where, on a night out things have got a bit lairy and out of hand and there's been a bit of handbags, have we!

But none of us will have had the responsibilty of being in the public eyes and being so called "role models"

Of course we have. But I'd wager that the vast majority of us don't perform our tasks for the direct enjoyment of others.

Even the smallest event can have an adverse effect on a player's career. If this rumour is true then it's sad to hear.

Not near the fish batter I hope...

I would have thought a kebab shop would have been closer to the mark.

Yeah we've all been out on the lash and yeah we've all got larey with it but come on, we all know this doesn't wash with footballers. It did in the Big Joe days but football and footballers were a different animal back then.

But I suppose my main beef, you'll be surprised to hear, once again is with Shez and this being another example of his shortcomings.

No discipline. Another trait which doesn't need coaching badges to instil. You either have it or you haven't.

Guilty until proven innocent eh Singe?

Derek.

Having seen 3 or 4 confirmations, and who they are by, I don't think it is made up.

That said, I did mean assuming it is true, though clearly did not say it. To be honest too busy at work to type exactly what I meant.

Let me rephrase it, as I am at home now.

Lets assume it is true, do you think he should remain captain?

It is fair to make a guess that he will be punished, so could be dropped for the next match.

Who should be made captain if he is dropped?

And if he is dropped as Captain, who should replace him?

No

Temp: Daniel Jones. Head and shoulders above and a commanding figure

Perm: Not sure, no one seems consistent enough, and Gregan was stand out up till now (apart from blaming evetyone else!)

Team mates go out, have a few beers, have a good laugh, have a bit of a row with each other, then go home and as Sav has said, who really gives a stuff as long as they win on Sat.

It has and does happen at football, rugby, cricket amateur and pro, staff nights out, police, teachers nights out etc and will i'm sure continue to happen.

As for this "Shez has no discipline" bottocks - get a grip!!

If we've nowt else to talk about, let's stir it a bit hey - sad!!
