Fergie
Looks like they are odds on to take over at Chesterfield today. Press Conference at 12.00.
Lookers_Carl
Looks like they are odds on to take over at Chesterfield today. Press Conference at 12.00. Yup Tommy Wright going with him too Wouldn't be surprised to see Liddell offered a deal From what I can gather on their message-board, very very mixed reaction to this appointment. Stitch_KTF
I'll be watching out for their results. Wonder if they can afford Greegs? I may be switching alliegences...
singe
I suppose it depends on how much Shez learns from his experience here. Mark crossley woudl seem like a good eprson to bring along. not sure about Tommy Wright, "the players never listened" And I am fairly confident Gregan was a significant part of the problem that Shez did not address. Though his plus points may outweigh the negatives for Chesterfield.

dish
a potential good opportunity for them all....never gonna be a big club, but usually there or thereabouts, and with a promise of £4M from the chairman, could be a springboard onto better things for the management team. jsslatic
Good luck to Shez and co, the potential is there for a successful manager. Fingers crossed he's learned the lessons he needs to from his spell here and can make a real go of it at Saltergate.
BucksBlue
Confirmed Shez manager Tommy no2 Crossley coach Three year contract as well ! That's like a life time contract with a guranteed pension in lower league football ! Good luck to them, but it was time for a change for us. Corporal_Jones
If they do come up we might miss them on the way down. Haven't Chesterfield got a new owner and stadium (or is it just the stadium?) If they have any remotely serious backing, nothing is so sure as they will leave us behind. Ditto Notts County if the Arab deal goes through. It's what usually happens. Lookers_Carl
Anyone think he might bring some of the existing squad here to chesterfield (or try to) Id put money on Liddell ending up there
OldhamSheridan
Anyone think he might bring some of the existing squad here to chesterfield (or try to) Id put money on Liddell ending up there You could see him wanting to get Lomax, and let's be honest I can't see him costing much more than a bag of chips. (and maybe Stam and Whittaker). Edited June 9, 2009 by OldhamSheridan
Corporal_Jones
Another thread hi-jacked. No it isn't. Sheridan has gone to Chesterfield; I ask about what kind of backing that club has and note that clubs with serious backing usually sail past us. Please carry on, children. Lookers_Carl
anyways, back on topic...... Yes they have backing but how sustainable is that backing? And how long will it last? Would not surprise me if Shez come in for Lomax as he seemed to rate him, although I would wager him and Lewi were possibly two of the players who 'never listened'? Maybe even a very cheeky punt for Daniel Jones given the backing they have? Edited June 9, 2009 by Lookers_Carl
