Highlight of the day

Recommended Posts

Highlight of the day for me, and if you are a poster on here then I doff my cap. But when one of the scrotes that invaded the pitch was being escorted out by the stewards (probably why he was hanging around afterwards), he shouted EDF and quick as a flash whilst I was telling him to get on his bike, a bloke near me said.

"We don't care who you get your gas and 'leccy with."

That was comedy genius.

Also if you are going to sing the I'm a bastard song try not singing it in a ground which is more in Lancashire than Oldham is.

As you can't be offfside if you are behind the ball when it is played it would be quite an achievement to be offside froma corner even if it were within the laws to be so.

Or that the ball cannot be played forwards?

Actually, you, me and Dave are all wrong - the ball can go forwards to a player from a corner, given the space in the arc and that the whole ball has to cross the whole of the touchline to go out.

I didn;yt say it would be impossible - just that it would be an achievement! I'll stick with that!

What does EDF mean?

Does ANYONE actually know what offside is anymore? The authorities have messed about with the laws of the game so much that offside is an extremely murky and confusing rule to try and implement. What with active, second phase, coming back into play, not interfering with play, etc, etc.

They should either scrap it altogether or go back to the trusted method of old. Personally, I'd scrap it. Bring a few more goals about if nothing else!

It's not actually that difficult, if he's interfering with play when the ball is played by a teammate, and in an offside position, he's offside.

Highlight of the day is me learning the offside from goalkick rules

Just checked on FA site and you can't be offside from a direct corner neither

Apologies all round

It takes a bigger man an all that

Now in all honesty, who else knew that? Come on man up!!!!

I was always under the impression if the ball goes out of the white lines, then the resulting dead ball ( throw in, goal kick, corner) you cant be offside.

Didn't know until Saturday against Plymouth when i did the same and shouted for offside from a goal kick only to be told that you couldn't be offside. Think they only brought it in 2 seasons ago but i could be wrong

i quailified as aref 12 years ago and it was a rule back then
