How much did we get for him?

Best business in the world, in the history of ever.

No we always sell ourselves short you know we should of demanded a cool million when he was here.

£750,000 for Scott Spencer and Neal Trottman and people think we sell on the cheap.

To be fair nobody questioned those deals. We have let players go on the cheap.

Apart from the summer of hell name them?

Merely pointing out that you picked two transfers that weren't really critisised at the time, One of them for a young lad that people knew very little about and the other for a player that had played half a season or something... Think it was pretty much unanimous that half a mil was too much to turn.

You can't pick and choose your facts to emphasise a point.

Fair do's we got good deals on those (and others)... But we've sold on the cheap, and we'll do exactly the same in the Summer.

It seems ridiculous that we got an alleged combined £550k for Eardley and Eaves compared to the £750k for Trotman and Spencer. A sign of our recent financial situation I guess. Anyone know if we had any extra clauses for Eardley and Eaves?

We got nothing on eardley I think its fair to say

We are I believe from a Bolton supporting friend with contacts pretty well claused up with Tom Eaves £350k+ add ons for a striker who has yet to score a competitive senior goal is pretty good value for money.

The reason we don't get any massive figures for anyone is because most of the players who come through the ranks here don't go on to great things. This year Eardley was the first player in a decade to come through our youth team and get into the premiership.

We will get what they are worth or what someone is willing to pay If we get half a million offer for any of our current crop I would bite their hands off.

Trotman - not far from the real deal when we sold. We did keep him on for a year when he was injured as a kid, crafty decision to sell maybe...

Spencer - take the money and run. Enough money to take a kid away unless we really do think we have a Rooney on our hands, and if one develops late into a Rooney it doesn't make the decision wrong. It's the odds.

Eaves - as above

Eardley - probably would have moved on anyway, he did go very cheaply. The contractual position might have been better if it hadn't got to the stage where his mum was coming into the club saying that he wasn't going to be signing another contract because of the fans telling him he was :censored: all the time.

Speaking off great players to leave Oldham. In the paper today Dennis Irwin was named in the Sunday Telegraph's all time greatest United team. He's in there with Keane, Cantona, Charlton, and one George Best. This man is surely the most talented player ever to pull on an Oldham shirt!? Feel free to disagree!

I remember at the time it was a choice between him and Lewi for Everton with Lewi getting injured they opted for Spencer , both on the scrap him now.

Spencer looks like he has a right billy big balls attitude

Eaves lad if you are seeing the Spencer story thats not how to conduct your career if you are released by Bolton

Pretty sure we had to pay Wrexham £50k as part of their sell-on clause for Eardley.
