oafcprozac
That 3-3 was a bloody brilliant game. Certainly had everything the crazy five minute spell after half-time when we went from 2-0 up to 3-2 down could only have been delivered by Latics…. BP1960
2 games a week is normal for later in the season, no hardship surely for full time professionals. It's a managers job to have a strong enough squad to take the club through that period. I hope we don't hear the lame excuse of tiredness resulting in lost points. Agree - but if one team has 9 games in a month and another has five or six - does the team with fewer games have an advantage?

I think it was Emlyn Hughes who said he would rather be playing than training, and the old Liverpool didn't do bad with lots of fixtures. Was the the 'old Liverpool' who were the best team in the country at the time with the most talented and largest squad in the old first division? Yup _ I can see no reason why if it worked for them it cannot work for us too...

Largest squad ?..about 16, with most playing every game, no scientific diets in those days, and a bucket and cold sponge man was the physio.
