Done and dusted.......

all the best Keiran, can see him doing really well for them.

If he gets a game that is. Lewis Buxton is their most consistent player at RB, fans' favourite and player of the last couple of years and they've also signed a RB from Ipswich. However, I get the feeling he may get games at LB as that's an area that was weak according to my Wednesday supporting mates.

Good Luck Kieran, time to stand up and make that full-back berth your own.

I see a lot of Wednesday fans are dismayed that they are signing players from lickle Oldham. One rightly points out if Kieran is as half as good as the last RB they signed from us - one Paul Warhurst, they will be on to to a winner.

Gutted he's left for nowt, but we signed him for nowt. Time to raid Old Trafford and the Etihad's release lists again?

gutted that we lose all our best players without receiving any cash for them.. quality player who was always bound a championship club

good luck Keiran

Exactly the reason why you have to question -

What future have the smaller clubs in the football league !!!!!!!!!!!!!

If they can't sell to survive , how do they survive ????????????

His departure was inevitable - pity it had to be to Wednesday. I don't like the club or its fans.

You have to question this club's foresight and long-term planning. We may he in decent health financially with a sound structure in relation to how we deal with transfers and wages, but our outlook means to move forward we have to rely purely on a manager with an ability to create miracles.

And then Corney has the gall to moan.

clubs own fault for not offering him a deal 12 months ago....cant complain about not gettin fees if we cant be bothered to tie our best players down....

cant see him playing every game like he more or less has here last few seasons...

Where's the evidence that he would have signed?

there's a lot of difference between offering a deal and it being accepted. His agent could have told him 12 months ago that he had every chance of getting an offer of more money than Latics could afford.

"Tie players down" - not if they don't want to be.

some mths ago i asked keiran why the contract was only for 12mths.he is a shy person and told me thats "what we agreed on".my impression of that conversation was that the player himself only wanted 12mths at that stage.remember keiran is 24at the end of his latics contract.by this method its given him flexibilty, hence the move.to the previous poster, what do you do,put a gun to his head.keiran has been smart.

I'd say that would be about spot on, the club can only offer what they can offer and the players with the help of their agents, will accept what's best given their potential or circumstances.

I'd say everyone involved knew the score at Xmas, as i've said before....that's life....sadly!

This will have been tough for Kieran none the less, if we had the finances available, i know he'd still be with us.

agree, and i know it was tough very tough but it's not just about finance it's getting promotion and you can bet your life if we were in a decent position league wise it may have been a different story

That's it exactly. We also need to start arguing where we stand in the football 'market' (hate it, but that's the world we live in). we can't, never could and never will be able to compete with our Manchester cousins. We offer a different experience, or at least we should. Coming to Oldham should be about relaxing, having some fun, socialising, enjoying a good game of football in comfortable and relaxed surroundings. People should come to see a good game in good surroundings, irrespective of the result (well, some) and winning trophies. That's who we are, and what we are. A 'family' atmosphere.

For that, we need investment. we need a ground, not a stand. we also need a brand of football which entertains (in the Championship). again, we need investment. we also need streasm of income, coming from the new ground/facilities.

People who go to football to see a team win are sad, superficial and are now new city fans. We need people who appreciate a different match day experience. Again, that means a new ground and new streams of income. Until then, we're treading water, at best. the only problem with treading water for too long is that you get tired and start to slowly drown....
