stevesidg
What was going on in Slaithwaitw and Marsden and all those people on the train from Hudders and Greenfield?
Omar Don't Scare
100% not Ridehalgh. That was the 1st one I thought of. All 3 have been garbage when Ive seen them I'd be amazed if any are offered a deal. I fully expect Smith won't last either. Again looked out of his depth

Midsblue
How did M'Changama play on left of midfield? How do you reckon we'd perform with Chris Taylor on the left had he stayed? I do hope young Taylor from Newcastle comes good as we're still screaming out for a striker to play alongside Simpson. I know we have 3 weeks before start of season but the current crop of trialists don't seem to be working and we could do with a striker, LW and CB at least! LaticsPete
Mchangama - not an out and out wide midfielder. Played well yesterday but not someone who is going to skip past fullbacks, get to the touchline and fling over crosses.

BlueJazzer
What was going on in Slaithwaitw and Marsden and all those people on the train from Hudders and Greenfield? The beer train is really popular. Done it a few times. Start at wetherspoons in Ashton for a bite to eat, then do every station to Huddersfield. Finish up in a club and stay at some flea pit hotel before train home in morning. It's a great day out.
eyres_28
Went up for the day and was most impressed with aspects of the 1st half. It looks like the starting XI (barring Cisak) and will definitely compete once we get some strength to back them up. Simpson dropped in and was constantly linking with wes and furman stringing some really nice passing moves together. Crofty did cut in a lot but looks so assured on the ball (still got that class evidently) and it allows the energetic Brown to bomb past him on the right. Tarky, in particular, and Mvoto were very assured throughout and Grounds didn't put a foot wrong - he looks the most solid LB since Charlton on that showing. M'Changama could work on the left for now really makes the midfield tick and looks v.solid. Simpson and Taylor were always looking to link up and seem to have a decent understanding already. Taylor's movement is a class apart and at times showed a lovely first touch. His only real chance he took very early on his left peg, almost surprising the keeper and the ability to control the ball, lay it off and then get in behind the defence for Simpson's goal was top draw. Bouzanis - nothing to do, always looking to get the game going with a early ball - 6 Brown - unsure yet defensively, but loves an overlap and is rapid - 7 Grounds - excellent, very asured - 8 Tarky - bossed their forwards, and a goal finally! - 8 Mvoto - did ok. barring a bizzare attempt to take on their entire team leading to a lunge worthy of a yellow - 6 Croft - looks class still, bit of timber still tho. - 7 Wes - busy as ever - 6 Furman - got forward really well and always involved in passing moves - 7 M'Chang - strengthens the middle when cutting in. Didn't really come off for him going forward - 6 Simpson - sublime finish and looks the part at number.10 as we already know - 7 Taylor - really like this lad. Fingers crossed he can stick in the the onion bag - 8 Subs: Smith - really poor. Jacob made 2 good saves. Trialists were average with LB the best of the 3. Mellor looks to have spent the off season in the gym and was head and shoulders over the rest of the team. Winchester was nowhere and nothing came off for Hughes. LaticsPete
Did anyone notice that Kirk Millar was playing right back yesterday. yes ! Out of his depth poor lad, lots of York attacks down that flank. Can't see it being more than a one off to allow Winchester to play in a centre mid role. Broke all records from a young age - 77 goals for the same boys team as Shearer - 77 goals at any level in a season is amazing could be something very special. Lets hope so! palmer1
Taylor needs to learn to keep onside though count 7 occasions were he was offside in the first half Chris Porter did exactly the same thing in his first season with us mght just take him 6 to 12 months to learn the fine margins of the game lets just give him a bit of time, hopefully he will be a cracker, he seems highly rated by the "experts"

A hell of a lot of pubs to fit in and I might have been too ambitious, but it's a top route

Real Ale Trail Good day out. Done it from Stalybridge to Leeds a few times. Just gets very busy that is all. A lot quieter in winter if you plan on doing it. Also did it on a Tuesday once and we were the only lot doing it so had a lot more time to mess about.
