Recommended Posts

Totalled my own travels watching the mighty Blues and i've seen us away to 81 current league teams, in total i've seen us on 115 different grounds including non-league… since 1986 (1990 first away game)

I hadn't spotted Geoff for what seemed like years until Bury. I thought he might have packed the away days in. Always remember seeing him with Chub going back a bit. And as for him seeing us at Notts C most times (12) on one occasion I watched him serenade the booze cruise with a pretty dreadful rendition of Delilah on the karaoke in the Cattle Market shortly before kick off. I think it was the day Dowie's Latics battered them. Happy days and a good man.

I would easily have clocked up 60 or so away grounds. Missing out on the 'newer' clubs like Crawley / MKD / Yeovil and due to moving to Australia during our Premiership days I missed out on a few big teams like Tottenham / Arsenal (and shamefully) Wembely.

How many other countries have people seen Latics play in? I've seen them in Cobh, Co Cork, Ireland...

None. Didn't go to Ibiza, Anglo Italian (Despite Genoa being a proposed Birthday present) or even Isle of Man... A pre-season tour of Latvia would be an unfulfilled dream.

15 grounds for me: Liverpool, Huddersfield, MK Dons, Notts County, Sheffield Wednesday, Portsmouth, Crewe, Doncaster, Scunthorpe, Tranmere, Everton, Bury, Forest, Preston, Orient.

Been to 22 of the 92 football league stadiums as well and 48 grounds overall including non-league, not bad for a 17 year old I reckon.

Best game I've been to has to be Forest. What an incredible match!
