He didn't impress me too much in the first friendly but I suppose that was only 45 mins and his first 45 mins in a long while. Hopefully he will prove me wrong and be a good player. Can anyone see him playing? I can't. I can see him getting games obviously but I don't think he will be in the starting XI every week, instead starting the season trying to compete for a spot, can't see him being played ahead of Wes and especially not ahead of Smith. Fair play to him though, it shows that he has the right attitude to be willing to put salary behind has hunger for playing for a team that is shaping up to be an exciting prospect which LJ has said from the start it's about the type of player. Twisbrogan Posted July 12, 2013 Share Posted July 12, 2013 Unless budgets mean we need to make cuts, don't see any need to move anyone on or decide on a strongest XI. Particularly at this time of year, let them train, let them play friendlies and see what team takes shape and which players rise to the top. Then see who from the others is pushing hard to get themselves in there. Having a first XI that picked itself has stagnated a handful of careers recently so if we sign the likes of Rodgers/ Rooney but end up playing Winchester/ Millar because they've pushed themselves in there then great, it would still make their signings worthwhile.
