beag_teeets Posted July 24, 2013 Share Posted July 24, 2013 Looking at some of the other club's away kits it looks like they are really going for unusual styles to drive sales. The sales figures for kits have probably been static or declining over recent years so by going a bit left field they can possibly tempt a few new purchases via the uniqueness angle. Shows a bit of initiative by the clubs and kit makers, I'm sure all clubs have preferred away colours, every 3 or 4 kits; churn one out in that colour and you'll get a sales spike as fans react to their preferred colour.
