the_mighty_bosh Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Don't know the centre of Oldham particularly well, so was wondering how long it would take to walk from the new Westwood stop on the metrolink to BP? Quote
rudemedic Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Google maps says 20 minutes, not sure it is going the best way though, especially if you sit in the Chaddy end Quote
yarddog73 Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 best would be turn back down middleton rd turn right onto featerstall road and turn left by b&m down towards clayton green for chaddy end would be quickest/safest Quote
Forte_Baby Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 If you get off at King Street proberly take just as long more of a down hill walk. Westwood roughly 8min from the old Werneth stop Quote
Senor_Coconut Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Get off at Freehold and it's basically one long road up to b&q Quote
leeslover Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 This could actually be useful. any buses from BP (well, White Hart) handy for the tram? Quote
leeslover Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 409Oh yeah. In my mind it only runs from BP to Thornham, or Dale at a stretch Quote
BP1960 Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 If you get off at King Street proberly take just as long more of a down hill walk. Westwood roughly 8min from the old Werneth stop Plenty of 409 buses from King Street to Royal Oldham Hospital. Quote
HarryBosch Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Google maps says 20 minutes I bet it's doable in about 5 depending what mood the locals are in Quote
rudemedic Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 I bet it's doable in about 5 depending what mood the locals are in Roughly 1.1 miles, if that's doable in 5 minutes for you, can you play football? As I think the club could with a signing who isn't going to get slated before he's even kicked a ball Quote
opinions4u Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 I once ran from Prenton Park to Rock Ferry Station in three minutes. Pursued by several unfriendly locals. Quote
leeslover Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Plenty of 409 buses from King Street to Royal Oldham Hospital. :censored: all of them going the other way of a Saturday evening though Quote
Tommy_Fent Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Plenty of 409 buses from King Street to Royal Oldham Hospital. 181, 182 and 24 from Manchester City Centre* *when it bothers to turn up Quote
leeslover Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 181, 182 and 24 from Manchester City Centre* *when it bothers to turn up Exactly, dead of cold waiting for them on the way back Quote

rosa Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 181, 182 and 24 from Manchester City Centre* *when it bothers to turn up They helpfully schedule the 181 at 44 minutes past the hour of an evening during the week, meaning that for midweek games you can either leave the game early or wait nearly an hour. Very grateful for the new tram stop. Now, if Network Rail could just finish the engineering works on the Liverpool-Manchester railway that have been going on for two sodding years... Quote
longtimeblue Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Is Westwood the best to walk from? On the tram tonight and still on my home from work... Pushing it fine. Quote
blueatheart Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Centre of Oldham was shut to trams for most of the day, might be causing issues. Quote
longtimeblue Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Centre of Oldham was shut to trams for most of the day, might be causing issues. Aye. Ended up a taxi and still 15 minutes late. Quote
