Let's Get A Win Against The Tykes And Go 5Th

Recommended Posts

With Fleetwood losing at Ashton Gate, the way is clear for us to claim the lofty height of 5th place - highest this season - by getting a win at Oakwell. Though they managed to get a home win yesterday, they have had pretty poor run recently and a win is possible. On a decent pitch with undersoil heating, we can capitalise on our passing game. So let's get down to South Yorkshire and cheer our boys in blue to victory!

Nice big open pitch. Perfect for Liam kelly to run the show.

Would've thought he's better on a smaller pitch if anything.

Fancy us to pick up a draw. Although it's about time we started beating the lower teams. We've dropped way too many points against the bottom 8 or 10. And given our fixture list meaning we play all of the top 7 at home, we may need to start picking up regular away wins, where we play 9 of the bottom 11. Defence needs go shore up if we're to pick up 3 points away from home.

Huge game that will either signal that a corner has been turned.....or will expose the failings that we all fear will leave us coming up short in a play-off push.

The division is crying out for somebody (most probably multiple sides) in that mid-table zone to put a run together....and it will happen sooner rather than later!

We need to make sure that's us!!

The 4th to 16th spots are so unpredictable its not real.

Scunthorpe (who we visit on Saturday) sit in 16th spot and if they won their two games in hand would have the same points as 5th placed Chesterfield.

To get into and start to create a sense of ownership of the 5th Play-off spot (and even potentially start to put some pressure on PNE) a team in the pack needs to go on a decent run of 3 or 4 wins on the bounce....which given we have 2 away games against teams pretty much in the same mid table scrum plus the visit of Swindon at BP coming up you'd have to say as a neutral that it would be a surprise if it was us that did it at this stage of the season.

But as a Latic, and having seen how well we can play, then some luck and some better concentration / organisation at the back, its a possibility.

See you at Oakwell...

Need to stifle Ben Pearson, it's his last game on loan.
