ChaddySmoker
What you mean didn't train before the manager arrived? He was at the fitness tests and there as everyone else was from that point! Seeing as he is blowing out of his arse before 45 minutes he should have been training hard all summer rather than eating kebabs and fagging it. Yeh your right...his weight would suggest he spent the summer eating kebabs!
ChaddySmoker
Yeh your right...his weight would suggest he spent the summer eating kebabs! Surely you cannot be that naive! A lad in their early twenties will not look obese due to eating junk food but it will still have a direct effect on their bodies. Are you ignoring the comment about fags? He is not fit, never has been fit and probably never will be fit for 90 minutes.

Twisbrogan
Might not fit in with what's being said here but I know that he's been seeing a personal trainer recently, trying to improve his strength.

It's his general application and desire that he needs to address. Only.certian players can get away with not putting a shift in. Baxter and Harkins for example. Winny doesn't do anywhere near enough. Time to get rid all be it a couple of years too late.

Yeah, if only we'd got rid just before that season he won Player of the Year...
welshgaz
Yeah, if only we'd got rid just before that season he won Player of the Year... I don't remember him being consistent enough to win that accolade. If he did that simply shows how bad we were.
BP1960
It varies depending on the person, I saw Denis Law saying he hated long training runs, his game was based on quick movement over a few yards. What suits one player may not suit another. Edited July 31, 2016 by BP1960

In a season which we were flirting with the top 6 until February? Winch was decent for most of that season under Johnson and then probably our best player under Holden. That year showed that he definitely had the ability for this level. Last season was disappointly poor, no doubt about it. If he gives a bad impression to this new management team then he gets no sympathy and has to leave. But to say we're a couple of years late getting rid isn't right. Thanks for that. The point still stands though. He's best to move on. In my opinion of course.
mikejh45
FFS......we are talkling about the longest serving professional at the club who has played under about 7 managers and still doesn't command an automatic start spot. He's had half of one season to make a statement and people on here still talk him up. If all those managers can't persuade him to be professional in his off field activities, then why do we feel that by just name dropping him into a starting line-up will make us a better team, Sheridan, IMO a good man manager, gave Winchester several opportunities to make a name for himself and yet he simply pissed on his chips and showed no effort or aptitude. Get rid. .
