The Pringle that tore us a new one when he was probably the best player in the division the season Rotherham went up would be immense, took all the set pieces and literally everything went through him, very rarely took a backward step and his energy with the ball at feet driving that team forward was immense, not sure why he hasn't kicked on from that but his last spell at this level he was a stand out performer, only 28 as well so should have plenty to offer.

Not been paying attention. So what’s the crack with Clarke. Less than half way through a 2 1/2 year contract isn’t he?  Cancelling the contract or a small fee from Bury (who have no money) ?

Bury always have money, it's just not immediately obvious how.

Shame for the lad because he looked to be the real deal. Be surprised if Steve Evans isn’t digging out blind to get him to Mansfield if he is available.

i think that Steve Evans would have him back playing for him anytime, he was his captain at Rotherham. Pity hes been out with serious injuries but he could do a good job for us if he could keep fit, he is a fighter and would be the kind of player I would expect Wellens to sign.

Unless there are plans to bring in a couple of more mobile strikers to suit the way RW wants to play?

What exactly is the way? We were playing great football with Doyle & Davies up front, and scoring loads of goals. We lose one of them through unfortunate circumstances, so we let the other one go for a small fee? Who the hell would we bring in with our finances??

Seems like Ripley and Clarke are off to Bury so why is it ridiculous for Jack Byrne not to go there as well????

Because two of them aren’t getting any games and aren’t in demand.

Byrne is highly in demand and has been a constant, so going to Bury (certain relegation) or Dale (probable relegation and an absolute dog of a pitch more suited to war games than football) would be curious.

Very true but stranger things have happened in football. Unfortunately Money talks. Also have you asked yourself why Hearts now don't want Byrne. Hes got a massive attitude problem and most clubs don't want to go near him.

Thought Dale had a new pitch installed back end of last season? Sure SandyLaneSmoker will correct me if I'm wrong.

They did. But it’s fucked already. Dale have made some terrible financial decisions recently. Hogan cash burned already by all accounts.

If the £200 per point rumour about Byrne is true then it is obvious that expense and not attitude will be the sticking point for most.
