The headline is very misleading there fellas. I just checked and the owner of the club is Clem Morfuni so it's officially his club and not theirs...

Top class pedantry that Paddy. All we've done is quote James who makes that very statement in the episode, as that's how they feel about Mr. Morfuni owning their club, instead of Mr. Power.

In fairness to @Lee Sinnott2, the headline would have been better in quotation marks. Not being up to date with all the goings on at Swindon (shame on me!) I also wondered if a fans' group had taken over/had a big say in running the club.

OK, well the point of the episode is to share with you the story of Swindon in an hour, so you are up to date, quotation marks or not.

Cheers for the episode. Found it very interesting and can see some clear parallels with Swindon.

What’s our strategy for expanding the skill set within the trust ?

Firstly, there is the OASF Event later this month https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/oasf-website-launch-auction-fundraising-night-tickets-182998061127 afterwhich our Trust will be looking to further grow it's membership and seek to expand the skills available to it.

Is this just for bidders in person?

Good question, I don't know the answer Dave. Have you messaged OASF directly and/or contacted them via Twitter......? With them being short on numbers currently, they may not look on here very often.....

Another interesting listen. So many elements of Swindon's story sounded very familiar.

I think the "personal" elements of the story - what people and skills you need - were very interesting. There were a couple of things that weren't mentioned that were very important to us :

a) understanding the EFL. Time has moved on, and Shaun Harvey is no longer there, thankfully. But some of his sidekicks from that time are, and understanding their mentality is quite important when it comes to putting them under pressure. I think this is especially so now that they are threatened with an independent regulator, and are desperate to demonstrate that they are still relevant. I doubt they would have been quite so proactive recently if the fan led review had not happened

b) linked to the above, I think understanding how big bureaucracies work is important, and for us this meant Government as well as the EFL. We took an overt decision to take our fight into Parliament - understanding how to reach Ministers and senior civil servants and keep their interest is a very useful skill, if you have it

The other thing that resonated with me is time. At moments of greatest pressure, it is like having a part-time job. And a job where you need to be strategic as well as active, to boot.

i will but I can't see anything at all about the event on the OASF website.  Unlikely to be successful if there isn't some noise about it

The only way that's going to happen is if more people offer the skills they have

We pushed it on the podcast this week..... and I believe they're nearly sold out......

....and/or OASF conduct a skills audit of the fanbase. Exeter told us you often have to find/seek them out, as opposed to sit there waiting for them to put their hand up. The latter is something our Trust has done for a very long time with little/no success....

Yes, sold out in person but are they all big bidders?  I was looking to donate something but can't see how to do so.

Get your point re the skills audit I'd think that has to start with a big shout out for what skills are bring looked for

There's no way I'm getting there which is why  was interested to find out if bidding was restricted to those there

Would you like me to make a £1million bid for an AL gifted club scarf as proxy in your name? 😉
