Premiership It’s the first game of the season and a chance for the try-hards to have their day in the sun. @disjointed tops the league with a guessy 8-point haul, while the Maharajah of Mediocrity @rudemedic pulled in a tidy 7. The title favourites @24hoursfromtulsehill (restored to the Prem after a last minute appeal) and @Ex_pat find themselves in the relegation zone. @GlossopLatic, Glossop’s third best predictor, is mid-table for the week before the long march down to relegation. @lookersstandandy spends more time on the Prediction League than anyone else (it takes him and his team of analysts days to come to a decision), pulled in 2 points, which is roughly 100 man hours per point. Championship @DavidCollinge, whose sad decline is becoming an embarrassment to the entire Prediction League, is top of the Championship with 3 points. That’s how easy it is to get to the top of that league. @JoeP, who never really recovered from his Helicopter Saturday defeat at the hands of @24hoursfromtulsehill about 15 years ago, is now in the Championship relegation zone, not so much looking over his shoulder as staring down at his bleak future in the Game. League One Speaking of the abyss, @futchers briefsleads the way by alphabetical order in League One having pulled in a respectable 4 points. @mackin89 and @rosa are the alphanumerically disadvantaged. Premier League @oafcmetty retains both control of the spreadsheet and the top spot following the past few rounds of fixtures. King of the Commonplace @rudemedic is behind in his struggle to maintain his position in the mid-table doldrums and will have to up his game...unless he’s aiming for mid-table in the middle of the whole league, which he probably is. Championship @LaticsPete is enjoying a strong start. @JoeP and @DavidCollinge, both of whom have challenged for and in one case won Premier League titles are the standout underperformers, milling around at the bottom of the second tier with some proper miscreants, like senior school sporty kids who hit puberty and suddenly succumb to smoking and Thunderbird and acting hard. League 1 @rosa tops League 1 and is flying, showing that there’s more to her insights than you see in the upbeat blogs she posts on BPAS. She could be a serious contender for mid-table in the Championship next season if she doesn’t throw it all away recklessly in the next eight months. It’s yours if you want it rosa! @another fan is in last place on zero points, which you’d think would be impossible this many games in. A mate of mine works in “compliance" for a shady betting platform registered in Panama that caters illegally for US gamblers. This is exactly the type of market in which he would immediately shut down accounts pending investigation. This and cockroach racing live from Singapore.
