  1. Love Winch jumping into fans to celebrate his goal!
  2. They have just announced the First Round replays on TV: Brackley Town v Gillingham next Wednesday 7.45 pm, and Dover Athletic v Cambridge United next Thu at 7.45, both on BT Sport.
  3. There seems no train leaving Sheffield for Lincoln before 13:42, and no train leaving Lincoln before 19:15. Engineering work?
  4. Could be televised, as it's a winnable tie for non-leaguer?
  5. Really enjoyed the game. Winch had good reception and played with energy and finesse, liking up well with Wilson. Clark immense as was Ripley. Defence so solid Cods never looked like scoring. Fane much better in second half, never stopped and broke up opposition play. Croft had a couple of chances when he came on. Hope this victory will give the team much needed confidence.
  6. I tried that for the Saturday's Shrewsbury match and worked well. You go to the e-ticket site, select your seat or area and pay. No handling charge of any sort if you opt for print at home, and it costs precisely £20 for adults. The site takes credit cards as well as debit at no extra charge. When you pay, they send your ticket by email with PDF attachment, which you print out and take to the match.
  7. There is a suggestion by a senior Conservative MP that once UK obtains an agreement with EU over sigle market etc, the governemnt should either hold another referendum or call a general election.
  8. Yes but there will be no existing opt-outs. Like any new member we will have to accept the euro and Schengen Agreement.
  9. I will stick my neck out and predict a clear win for remain, by the margin of 55% to 45%, similar to the Scottish referendum. I see there is a late surge in the value of the pound tonight, and betting shows one of the shortest odds for remain since the campaign started, at 1/5. Better the devil you know!
  10. Vote remain from me too. There is no El Dorado for being outside EU. We are not Canada or Australia, but offshore islands of the European continent. The only international leader supporting Brexit is Putin, not because it's good for UK but will weaken EU. While UK may flourish outside EU, we won't know for something like 20 years, after a recession or two, massive job losses, high inflation because of plunging pound (by 20-30% possible) and huge damage to our economy (mainly dependent on service industries and financial services). While benefit tourism must be stopped, immigration itself is good for UK and it's always a two-way process, where British citizens can take up jobs and residence throughout EU, as over a million have already done. The only political parties in other EU states calling for withdrawal from EU are far right fringe like Le Pen's Front National in France.
  11. I was with the protesters in town centre and at the ground. Generally well mannered, but feelings were running high. I heard someone shout at stewards guarding the entrance that he will be back 'f***ing every year until they go.' A few smoke bombs tossed towards the entrance, but that's all. Police were there but didn't intervene or get provoked into action.
  12. If invasion does happen, there will be severe punishment from the FA for the club, as they had been warned about their future conduct last time it happened. Points deduction after a relegation will put them in great danger of dropping out of the league next season, which plays into the hand of Karl Oyston who is supposedly on a one-way revenge mission to the Conference.
  13. Hate Accrington Ground ever since I was whacked on the face with a ball in pre-match warm-up.
  14. If you want to get into the ground and you have no ticket, you have to go to the ticket office (no cash admission as entry is by scanning the barcode on ticket). You'll find ticket office staff are well up on quizzing suspicious away fans.
  15. His theory collapses as soon as we beat Walsall tomorrow. He has us down for a defeat.
  16. You still need to get from Blackpool North to Fleetwood Town FC. Choice is shared taxi (around £20), bus #14 from Talbot Rd or #1 from North Pier (45 min, £2.50) or tram (35 min; £2.50). Or day saver ticket for £4.50 (valid on both). Shorter bus rides from Poulton-le-Fylde on #80 and #82 from Teanlowe Centre.
  17. Yes, expensive but have no option, living only 20-min drive away. Nice ground poor home support.
  18. Blackpool FC always count season ticket holders, whether they actually atttend or not. They have fairly high number of season ticket holders, as they did special two-year deal at the start of last season. Arsenal do the same. With some cup ties, where they are clearly empty seats, the attendance is still around 60,000.
  19. Just come back. Really awful game from two awful sides on awful pitch on an awful night. We were marginally the better side and had better players to make a difference but we didn't. Should have buried that header after the keeper beaten.
  20. Yes, tickets are avilable from away ticket office by the entrance to the North Stand. Cash only BTW from 90 min before ko (from 6.15 pm). Allocated seats only (I asked at pool ticket office today).
  21. No significant rainfall forecast for Wigan area for the rest of the week, with light showers on Saturday.
