  1. The announcement does state he will create menus and attend on special occasions. So probably not his day job.
  2. As executive chef, he may not be involved in day-to-day running of the kitchen in North Stand, but will create menus and inspire the food service. A bit like having Gordon Ramsay as executive chef at BA - he won't be cooking for them but his signature dishes will feature in First and Business Class in-flight meals etc. A man of his talent shouldn't be cooking at OEC but running his own restaurant and giving his inspiration to menus at external venues.
  3. Looking at the first two goals, it made me wonder how our strikers would cope given the same opportunities. We just have to be more clinical in finishing than scuffed shots, hitting players and straight into keeper's arms.
  4. Have you noticed that the North Stand is skewed towards the Chaddy End, in that the half-way line is several yards toward the Chaddy side than the exact half-way spot of the stand? Or will this be corrected when the new pitch is laid and lines are redrawn?
  5. 2015-16 league fixtures to be released on 17th June. League starts on 8th August. Blackpool did ask for their first few games to be away, and was granted, when they put finishing touches to new temporary East stand to house away fans in 2010.
  6. Roots Hall is a dump and Adams Park is at the bottom of an industrial estate with a view of grazing cows.
  7. I was there for the pre-match demonstration and protest - wearing my Latics top and showing solidarity as fellow footy fan. All very peaceful, so was surprised to hear about pitch invasion and attempts to break into the director's box to confront Karl. Atmosphere is very toxic and we haven't seen the end yet.
  8. So like an airline's business class then. A lot of clubs with new stadia/stands have done this, most famously at Emirates for Club Arsenal(?) and Club Wembley.
  9. Someone was paying with debit card at the ticket office yesterday. You could just reserve your seats in North Stand yesterday as former Broadway stander, but I don't know if you still can now that season ticket is on open sale.
  10. Press conference put back to 4.30 pm at Oakwell.
  11. Col U beat leaders Bristol City 3-2 after being 3-0 up. It's a crazy league with everyone beating everyone else. So we stand a good chance of turning over Preston!
  12. With Fleetwood losing at Ashton Gate, the way is clear for us to claim the lofty height of 5th place - highest this season - by getting a win at Oakwell. Though they managed to get a home win yesterday, they have had pretty poor run recently and a win is possible. On a decent pitch with undersoil heating, we can capitalise on our passing game. So let's get down to South Yorkshire and cheer our boys in blue to victory!
  13. What is the weather forecast for Tuesday night? They have undersoil heating but if the surroundings are icy, it can be called off again. BBC Weather says low of -1C and high of 3C, with little snow.
  14. If they remove the snow from the covers today but keep them down overnight, then I think there is a good chance that the match will be on, as overnight lows are only expected to be around -1C (covers protect down to -3C). They said they have cleared snow off the stands. What are the surrounding streets and footpaths like?
  15. He was a crock at Blackpool and was well off the pace. Don't want him.
  16. Just been to Highbury Stadium from Blackpool. There is still a very bad road work on A585 Amounderness Way north of Morrison Superstore at Cleveleys. It took me 10 min to get through in mid morning. So I suggest you either go through Cleveleys via Fleetwood Rd/Rossall Rd (A587), or go via Thornton at Norcross Roundabout (one after Poulton-le-Fylde) or at Morrison's Roundabout (turn right into Victoria Rd East and left at the library). If you are coming through Rossall Road, turn right (5th exit) at the first roundabout as you come into Fleetwood (Shell garage on the corner) into Hatfield Avenue which leads to the grounds in 500 yds. Plenty of free street parking and no resident permit area.
  17. Don't worry about snow. We haven't had any snow accumulating this winter on the Fylde coast, even when Oldham had a few inches. Also Highbury Stadium is on the Eastern, Wyre River side of Fleetwood, away from the prevailing wind off the Irish Sea, and surrounded by houses so will be more sheltered than BP.
  18. A 'score' of media vehicles parked on Sheepfoot Lane have been ticketed: www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/oldham-tv-crews-fined-ched-8407123
  19. Official statement from the board due in minutes, acc to SSN.
