  1. Maybe the football shorts should be left to footbally activities, may I suggest a fetching pair of Speedo's for your aquatic adventures
  2. Being in work I can't acess the player so if someone could kindly post details of his interview that would be greatlt appreciated
  3. I would guess that not every Latics fan will have voted so perhaps similar figures
  4. The technology doesn't seem to affect the likes of Chelsea and United and they can afford bigger and better headphones!!
  5. can't think of any reasons why they deserve a premier inn fry up. Why waste money?
  6. Yep, so many good times as a Latics fan under the double diamond - guilty of living in the past, perhaps...aren't all tic's fans over a certain age? Used to love all the old umbro kits, so many teams had them, shame that nike have the monopoly now even though they own Umbro now! Crazy
  7. Anything Carbrini based is surely cak. We should lobby an Umbro return. Hell i'd even take Pony over Carbrini!!
  8. tis the minority who spoil it for the rest of us Lags unfortunately they are the ones normally heard the loudest
  9. I think DP has got to stay on next season. For me this has been the worst season ever watching Latics but through luck or judgement things are improving. Fir the first time this season I felt that we were going to get another against Bristol Rovers and there is certainly a core of players which to base a team around and build. To replace the manager and playing personnel yet again will be a set back no matter who comes along. There is no magic wand.
  10. A couple of players have shown that they should be staking a claim to form the basis of our side next season regardless of division. Both Lee and Stevens have been consistant the back end of this season and can play the game also. Lee MOM for me, great debut from Millar, a little raw but a side needs that, he really gave the crowd something to shout about.
  11. I am in no way a fan of DP's but I fail to see how he can shoulder any of the blame for last nights performance. For me that was easily in the top 5 this season, maybe higher. We played good football at times and attacked. The 3 Brentford goals came from poor defending. I am at a loss at how many free kicks Hazell has given away by having his arms all over the opposition.
  12. Sorry lads but he is right, we caught Danny coming out of the changing rooms on the way home and got it straight from the horses mouth. A problem with his hamstring/lower back. I thought he slotted in nicely last night and hope he is back in time for the Brighton game
  13. Yes, all out please, goals have been the problem all season. if we can get 2 in a game then there is every change we will bag the 3 points as we have not been leaking many. March/April will shape up to be interesting months
  14. I think that it is time to get over the COG situation. He wouldn't have made a difference coming back to us. Should have been given the chance last season when he returned from loan but he wasn't. Time this was put to bed.
  15. Yeah Dave you're dragging us down Yeah Dave you're dragging us down Yeah Dave you're Dragging us down down down
  16. Right, I think we need to lighten things up a little bit here. I am sick of the only tune which ever seems to be used in songs at Latics nowadays i.e the 'we're just too good for you, wer're just too good for you' etc dross and feel that we should have a bit of a nod towards some Oldham/Surrounding area musicians. I'll Start the ball rolling with an Inspiral Carpets Classic 'Joe' which could be linked to Joe Jacobson i.e. His name is Joe and he defends our goal and he defends our goal so you get the idea - perhaps not the best example but I'm sure you lot could expand
  17. March is a massive month for us, 7 games to play thus 21 points available but teh majority of those are against the teams which we will finish near come May. A lot more teams will be fancying playing us than vice versa. Without goals were are going to remain in that bottom 4, something needs to change and that is surely in the form of a more attack mided team. We have pacy attacking players which simply have not been utilised this season. I know Taylor and Smalley have not performed as well as they can but perhaps an element of this can be attributed to tactics? I am sure that it is no coincidence that Taylor was at his best under Shez. Some points on the board quickly please or Bury, The Dale and Shez might be passing us which is not a good thought
  18. A good debate this Ackey although this is perhaps a generic question as opposed to one for the terraces? I personally cannot understand the hatred towards Manchester especially when sung by some sections of the crowd. Historically it could be said that Oldham could owe its boom years with being in such close proximity to Manchester and the advent of the Industrial Revolution and the cotton boom. Oldham and Oldhamers should embrace their connection and proximity to Manchester which is one of the great Cities of the world when you consider the developments in technology made there and also some of the people born in the city, Manchester also has a great history of popular culture with music, literature and comedy all benefitting. Fair enough it has its problems and no go areas but many cities of a similar size also have this, lets face it Oldham, isn't exactly utopia and has more than its fair share problems. The gun crime referred to is limited to the gangs in the main. I'd much rather go into Manchester on a Saturday night than Oldham as I feel much safer there. Neither Oldham or Manchester is perfect and each place has their own number of undesirables but Manchester is a city most certainly on the rise, perhaps there is an element of jealousy, especially if people are stuck in a run down mill town. Manchester may suffer from the worst of what the North West has to offer but conversely it also benefit from the best which the area and neighbouring towns of Bury, Rochdale, Bolton, Stockport etc has to offer. Ideally I would love the club to stay at Boundary Park but I simply do not get the I hate Manchester/Mancs thing it just seems like small mindedness to me. I don't even get the I hate Man U and City Too song or Stand up if you hate Man U. We should focus more time on liking Oldham/Oldham Athletic and enbrace the best that Manchester has to offer us Yonners. After all...if you can't beat them join them? Just a thought.
  19. Agreed, Penneys attitude has me baffled so far this season, the body language of the hand in pocket 90% of the time and that annoying smirk at everything. It sometimes just seems to be a big jolly up to him and his boys on the touchline. Definately no rapport with the fans for me which is certainly something which he needs to improve on. If he doesn't agree with the stick he is getting why not issue a statement like the one above rather than his stubborn 'I don't give a monkeys' quote. I don't care what he does to get the results but lets not be a child about it eh! Also why i'm on a rant I am sick of Czukman wearing those bleeding tights, just stick some trakkie bottoms on instead of looking like an overgrown ballerina!
  20. Also rochdale are most definately a team on the up but the town as a whole is an even bigger dive than Oldham. When you look at the evelopments in Bury and how that town is growing it is amazing that Rochdale neighbours the place. There may be a small connection but nothing significant
  21. But at least you get a return on your stake if England fail to win whereas you have blown the full £340 if you make the trip down to the bookies???? That would be even more stupid to me
  22. Midfield is the weak link there, no real experience or guile in the middle of the park such as a Wellens/Murry figure. I rate Stephens and he has been a shining light in an otherwise dim campaign. Would love to see him alongside a Graham Kavanagh or similar
