  1. looking much better, will take the edge off another season in this division
  2. I went to watch hibs a few years back and this lad played actually, he might have even scored but my memory all things football related is pretty poor. I do remember being impressed Ivan Sproule who later went to Bristol City. Not much of an insight there, sorry.
  3. Young Josh had better think about giving we buy any car a ring as it is highly unlikely that he will have the funds to run it come July
  4. No problem with him at left wing Razza but he is normally deployed at left back, a role where is is far too soft. he needs to stick a foot in and go where it hurts!
  5. He was a big fairy puff tart and can't believe anybody is arguing this!! He kept looking over to the bench while theactrically holding his noodle area a good 5 mins after the incident. There was at least a good 15 mins left in the game too! The factthat Taggarts head nearly blew off and he didn't start the next game go to confirm this. Evina pulls out of challenges all the time and he definately wanted out rather than playing out the game able to come off with a bit of dignity. Yes the run for the second goal does earn him a bit of a repreive but so far for me he has flattered to deceive. Yeah he is pacy and can go on a good run every now and then but we look much more assured and solid with black in the team and his forward play isn't too far behind that of Cedric. I am struggling to find too many positives, the 'rocket' shot which the keeper should have saved and having a storming second half against (I forget some help please) where the balls he was getting into the box were 1st class. If he could toughene up a bit he would improve his game no end. that said it is great to have some compettition at left back.
  6. Wait until we score a goal to release season ticket prices! Crafty
  7. Anybody with an arse that big able to play each and every game of a season in pro football - most definately
  8. Hmm perhaps the manner in which the cooksey point has been made was a touch insensitive I agree to a certain extent. I would say that Cooksey was more a cult hero just like Tonk will probably be. He was certainly a shining light in some dark days. As for Chris Taylor he is a definately a legend of recent years with nobody coming close unfortunately. few players stay at clubs long enough now to attain such status and for clubs like us which experience mid table mediocrity more often than not legends are certainly few and far between. Naturally your Ritchies, Bunns, Palmers of this world will be held in such high esteem and rightly so for obvious reasons. As for Chris it is all relative and whilst I'd love to give him a slap for his whining and rolling about at times I imagine if I was a 9 year old on the terrace he would be one of my favourite players and that is what it is about.
  9. Hello, I would say that neither of the 2 lads would really end up playing in the Prem. Big Jean has been a great signing so far although needed a few matches to warm up he since looked the business being very dominant in the air and even chipping in with a couple of gaols with Dickov preferring a big man in the box in the dying moments of games rather than pulling on a striker. His lay off coincided with our run of bad form although a number of factors (footballing and non footballing perhaps) seem to have contributed to this his absence has certainly been felt. 8/10 for me and certainly capable at Championship level. Oumare has perhaps flattered to deceive at times. At first he also struggled but with more games his awareness and touch improved along with his hold up play and although getting a reasonable return has never really carried any momentum. Our lack of a natural goalscorer and perhaps a partner for Oumare has been our downfall and perhaps reflected in his own game which coinciding with the teams lack of form and inability to score goals has stuttered. The standout performance was vs Huddersfield with him being described as the 'Human Wrecking Ball' but recent perfomances have been lacklustre at best. Still a young lad though and would surely consider his 1st full season a success. I'd give hime a 6/10 which would have been closer to 7-7.5 if earlier form had continued. Would no doubt have benefitted from a more settled strike partner. I see him being league 1/lower champs perhaps
  10. Definately, Morecambe are far too good to drop out of the league!
  11. he'll be at Chesterfield next season pushing for promotion to the Championship
  12. I'd agree with this. I've been very underwhelmed with Trotters but I suppose he had already raised expectation from before we had sold him on. As has been mentioned it would appear that injuries have taken there toll as he struggles for pace and mobility and often relying on last ditch tackles. I was hoping that he would have chipped in with one by now but our corner taking abilities are eclipsed only by the movement which we offer at throw ins! As for Mvoto he seemed shaky at the start but then grew into the role and has the ability to chip in with a couple also. We have definately missed Ruubes despite his odd bollock dropping here and there and would like to see the pairing of him and Mvoto again but if we are out of contention it might not be worth while...then again nothing wrong with pushing as far up that table as possible
  13. Agreed Razza, we really need to make the most of Taylor out wide and Phil in the hole, no link last night which resulted in the long ball tactics. I think it shows how much we miss Stephens despite his occasional hollywood balls and one paced movement he can certainly give us that added something in the middle of the park. I thought Lee and Amos were excellent though!
  14. I've managed to persuade a few neutrals to come and take advantage of the £2 offer. So a decent crown coupled with a good chance to bag 3 points usally means....well you can guess the rest eh!
  15. Improving steadily since his introduction with a few crucialsaves in the mix too. From what I have seen, could be better off his line and needs work on his kicking but bravery is better than Brills and shot-stopping on a par if not better. Also more assured at claiming crosses. On the whole I would say the recent stats speak for themselves and we have improved ourselves in the goalkeeping depatment.
  16. I know the situation isn't great but can we just turn it in for a while eh?
  17. if you go from opposite the Lancaster club you hit what we called 'the white stuff' that goes across to Hale Lane on the New Moston border then across from there again you have land which takes you to the canal and then up to Morrisons. Not sure how feasable the land on the opposite side of broadway is though and I would imagine that there would be enough room however it may run into Manchester territory?
  18. Would you not have learnt about the railway on your history project?
  19. I'm a season ticket holder and would suggest all that can should fill their boots with this offer, doesn't bother me in the slightest. I go to Latics to have a beer with my mate and shout at the opposition!
