  1. I wouldn’t be. The guy has an average to poor record in a French league he understands. I can’t see how he would be the right choice for League 2 England.
  2. Hi Abdallah, if you want to reconnect with me can you answer the following questions first? 1. Was the gas supply at the club disconnected due to non payment of bills? If so why have the bills not been paid? 2. Did the team coach transport fail to turn up due to non pay,ent of bills? If so why have the bills not been paid? 3. Did you send emails to Paul Scholes telling him to play certain players? If so how does that fit with your stated policy of non interference? 4. Do you plan to give a two year contract to a player, Iacovitti, who has not yet played for the first team without consulting Paul Scholes? 5 Did you tear up the contract of Ousmane Fane without consulting Paul Scholes? 6. Have you offered contract renewals to players without consulting Paul Scholes? 7. Will all wages at the club be paid on time going forward? 8. Do you actually have my money to support the income shortfall at the club. 9. Do you have a sustainable plan for the club’s future? And can I have the answers before the first renewal deadline for season tickets next week? Thanks in advance,
  3. Four interesting suggestions. My thoughts: 1. The next home home game is just under two weeks away. A lot of time for fans to organise a coordinated protest or to cool down? As a fan I disagree with the idea of a Boycott and will be at the game. I would support a coordinated protest at the game. 2. I have not renewed yet so not applicable to me.It's a personal choice and I can understand that many will seek a refund. 3. Tricky one this as I fully intend to renew and the deadline to guarantee my same seat is the day before the next home game. 4. An experienced Chief Executive will not come cheap if indeed one could be found. Important two two weeks ahead of us.
  4. The question for me is what can we believe? Either, as you so elequently put it, they are both wankers or one is telling porkies.
  5. Defence, Hunt in particular, backing off too far for the second. Great finish though
  6. Agree with your points. I have no problem with spelling mistakes and poor grammar with one exception...The use of ‘could of, would of and should of’ ... - a particular highlight for me
  7. Best league attendance for 40 years with 15,871
  8. How did you get so many downboats with such incisive and informed comment?
  9. Agreed. I was thoroughly hacked off after our second half performance yesterday but that and the recent struggle for victories under PS will not stop me renewing for next season.
  10. https://www.eveningexpress.co.uk/sport/paul-scholes-disappointed-as-oldham-lose-lead-to-draw-at-cambridge/ ‘I can’t explain the second-half performance. It was probably the worst half of football we’ve had since I’ve been here,” Oldham boss Scholes reflected afterwards. “I thought it was OK in the first half, we controlled possession without really looking that threatening. “There were a couple of chances but not much, and we scored a lucky goal. We looked lively, played some good stuff at times. “In the second half we started really badly and didn’t really get any better. We never really looked like scoring. “The players looked a little bit tired in the second half, which could be understandable as they’ve had a couple of hard weeks training. “It was a disappointing second half but we have to get over that now. “We’ve got a tough game on Tuesday against Lincoln which we know that, if we play anything like we did (in the) second half, we’ll struggle. We need a bit more life in us.” Strange comment ‘The players looked a little bit tired in the second half, which could be understandable as they’ve had a couple of hard weeks training’ That’s twice recently that he has used that excuse... I have a suggestion Paul, why not cut back on the training and then the players might not be so tired? Got to love Calderwood’s comment on their goal though: ‘We remained in the game and we had a super start to the second half. We’ve worked a lot on that, passing it back to the keeper and him miskicking it through to the centre forward.‘’

  12. I went to Cambridge today expecting us to build on the promise we had shown for a large part of the home game against Stevenage. After a fairly drab first period in which we bossed the game, with Baxter the standout player, we deserved to go in at half time one goal up. The team worked hard closing down and getting a foot in at vital moments, but ultimately the tactic of playing out from the back led to lots of possession with very little in the way of efforts on goal. Once again we came out for the second half and looked a shadow of the team who had comfortably managed the game. An early mixup and the slender lead was clawed back. From that point onwards we looked ponderous, disinterested and a very poor side. When Baxter went off we lost the midfield and were distinctly second best. Dapo should have put his chance away but lacked the composure and Nepomuceno hit a tame free kick easily saved by the keeper. That apart, I cannot remember another clear cut opportunity. At the end we seemed to settle for a point. Too many players looked off the pace today. Edmundson, Maouche, Lang, Dearnley and Alofayan either were caught in possession or gave the ball away cheaply. O’Grady and Branger and Missilou had very little impact coming off the bench. Clarke was again the outstanding defender. One positive for me was the performance of Iversen- specifically the way he came off his line to claim the ball. Obviously something that he has been working on in training. A disappointing and worrying performance.
  13. Will be interesting to see the attendance at Blackpool today - expecting a full house with fans returning following the Owen Oyston’s demise. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/47392440
  14. As long as he puts out his first choice side tomorrow I’m happy. From the fishul: Scholes has also had one eye on Tuesday night’s game with Lincoln City and he believes that he’ll have to use his full compliment (sic) of players to get through the next week. “Planning wise, I think I will be changing the team from Saturday to Tuesday then back to Saturday without a shadow of doubt.
  15. From the ground guide: There is a supporters club at the ground itself, that normally allows in away supporters, except for high profile games. The club charges a £2 entrance fee and also serves food. However as you would expect on matchdays it gets rather busy and sometimes has to turn away fans because it is full.
  16. No mention of it being All Ticket so would imagine it is PotD Last two home games: v Tranmere Attendance: 4,872 (629) result 0-0 v Port Vale Attendance: 4,193 (311) result 1-0 Good Away following from the tramps. Both tight games from the score line.
  17. And there will be a number more who, like me and a couple of mates, turn up on the day. Fully expect 400+ on the day. That South Stand should be bouncing.
  18. Agreed. Contracts should contain relegation clauses. Would be surprised if they didn’t. However that doesn’t necessarily mean that holding on to players after relegation is a bad thing. They stay on reduced terms or they go. They can be part of that recovery.
  19. Scholes wins his next three games and he goes top of the table
  20. Until quite recently, I was of the opinion that a European super league was a bad thing. But I am now coming around to the view that it may well benefit the English League structure. When I read of David De Gea reportedly wanting 400k a week (A WEEK FFS!) and his club ready to pay him that sum then I despair for the whole football pyramid. Championship clubs will increasingly push themselves to the point of bankruptcy to attain the holy grail that is the Premier League and the knock on effect down through the leagues will only lead to the rich clubs benefiting - sad times
