  1. Absolutely no chance of 5,000, we didn't hit that in the league that many times did we last season, i'm not sure, but it always seemed to be 3,000 and something or 4000 and something, plus we played similar opposition last year in SWFC and there was nowhere near 5000. I'll say just shy of a 1,000 Rams and 2600 Oldham. so around 3500 in total
  2. United will pander to the fans and link themselves with every player of a high calibre, such as Thiago, Fabregas, Ronaldo, when in reality they have no chance of signing them and will end up panick buying Fellaini and Baines. They will go on to stagnate and then regress whilst drowning in a mountain of debt and then sell Old Trafford and get relegated to League 1 like Leeds.
  3. All these predictions make me laugh, Bradford and MK Mongs won't finish in the top 6. Posh wont win the league. Oldham, Walsall and Notts County won't go down. Tranmere and Rotherham 8th and 9th rrreeeaalllly. Source: My magic crystal ball. Good read though :-)
  4. When you put it that way, it sound silly, but in my head it made sense haha. ie it would be easier perhaps to get a team clicking and moving up at the lower end of the spectrum and building your reputaion up by winning promotion/s etc rather than going to Donny, facing teams of the calibre of Leeds, Wigan, QPR, Reading, Forest, Bolton, Leicester etc, theyre gonna take a load of beatings and will more than likely end up back in L1. And yeah of course he wasn't going to turn that sort of money down, but by failing, which I fully believe he will there, thats when he will be left with his managerial career in tatters, could be wrong, hope i'm wrong, but I can see him making the same mistakes over and over again.
  5. I don't blame PD for taking his chances at a higher placed club, BUT i can't help feel that he shouldn't have taken the DRFC job, simply because if it all goes t1ts up, he has nowhere to go from there, and there's the awkward situation of having your mate as your boss factored in also, will be lovely if/when he gets fired. I really do think that PD should have taken a job at a club such as Macclesfield, learned from his mistakes, appointed an older head alongside him and gone back to basics, and made his way back up the football pyramid, as it is, I unfortunately see him failing at Donny.
  6. tbf the OP wasnt being intentionally negative, he has probably been reading too many conspiracy books that's all I fully expect the 3 lads to be playing tomorrow, and like the good doctor alluded to, we're probably playing a wee bit of mind games with the Rams...
  7. Yeah he was brilliant that night, and against Hudds in the 1-0 win (Wrecking Ball night) suppose he's just a bell when he's on the opposition team.
  8. I must have told 4 or 5 people that it's worth getting down for tomorrow night, £10 quid, a team that wants to play exciting football etc, got negative responses from all of them, if your dont fancy us having a crack at higher opposition for ten pound, then your not going to come back for a long time.
  9. If M'voto can play in the Championship, then so can Tarky. Captain crab has gone to that level, Smith has, M'voto has. All relegation fodder last season, you've also got COG who did nothing with us and he's moved up there, see JJ, see Davies, it seems the difference in standard isn't that great if those first 3 especially can get gigs in the Championship
  10. Not bothered about him celebrating, I just thought he was a bit of a cock all afternoon, there's celebrating and then there's running the full length of their side stand, slapping all the hands of the fans on his way towards where we were at, snapping into challenges on our players etc etc, he just seemed wound up like he had a real point to prove despite him being the one who left not the other way round. On Tounkara, there was a couple of chants of his name, but didnt hear any stick but I was at the side of our stand out of the way. Speaking of Tounks, seeing him brough back the memories of his season with us, where he'd run through a brick wall for you, his effort and desire are second to none, he's just :censored: at shooting.
  11. Oldham 2-2 Walsall (HT 1-1) - Rooney - 4576
  12. Thought he played very well against Stevenage, targeted from the off from their defenders, who committed some cynical fouls on him, something he is going to have to get used to, all in all very promising start and a good deal to build on...
  13. Unbelievable goal, pure class and the lads taken the confidence and fitness he's gained in pre-season and took it on to the stage that matters. Got to admit I was screaming for him to lay Dayton in through on goal but the lad took the right decision in the end and got the rewards for it, well played.
  14. Don't know if anyone saw this...same old usual Wolves, Bristol City, Peterborough and Sheff Utd at the top, but they have a top 5 players to look out for, and include James Dayton in there, one of the attacking players we've signed that hasn't really had much publicity behind JCH and Rooney but from what I saw of him pre-season looks a very decent player with alot of pace, and a decent delivery. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2381263/LEAGUE-ONE-2013-14-PREVIEW-Leigh-Griffiths-key-Wolves.html
  15. That Sheff U game at home last season was disgraceful in terms of a refereeing display, still can't believe some of the decisions that went their way...
  16. I always believed Port Vale and WBA were higher than BP...
  17. I believe that The Junction coach now goes from a pub around the corner just into Derker called the LowerHouse????? Could be wrong, just what I heard on the grapevine...
  18. Bet365 doesn't have 6-3, but 5-2 oldham is 300/1 EDIT: Just had a cheeky 50p on Joseph Baxter to score first and 'tics to win 5-2, (850/1.) EDIT 2: Haha and i've just seen that earlier I said I can't see us scoring loads, think the suns gone to my head.
  19. When I first read this topic, I couldn't relate to it...until last night when I dreamt we won 6-3 against Stevenage, it was that realistic that I believed it was true for a few minutes when I woke up this morning. Either way, I think we will beat Stevenage tomorrow, without going overboard, 2-0 or 2-1, don't think we'll see 4 or 5 as some people are anticipating.
  20. I would say that if I knew I was going to Stevenage, I would have sorted my transport weeks ago, not left it to the last minute...
  21. They are either spending last years cup money or we are going for :censored: or bust...
  22. Great read apart from we kept a clean sheet against Curzon.
  23. A lot of "what if's?" from that Northern Final. Kuqi's missed pen in the first leg, the fact we starte dlike a train in the second, Kuqi hitting a post when he should have scored, like you say we were dead by the time that donkey M'voto (Yeah the same M'voto that people put in the same bracket as Barrett) collided with Cisak and Lester tapped home.
