  1. Not a bad idea with Stott. I would be tempted to leave it a little while longer though. Scholes hasn't had a great start and we could do with a win just to feel like we are competing another defeat while it doesn't mean a huge deal would errode confidence. Time isnt given to managers these days and i hate for us to into nexr season on tye back of a loosing streak under scholes In hoping a few days break from bury gives the players a bit more energy and we can get on the front foot early and take 3 points
  2. To be honest Billy the incentives there are decent. Other than a reduction in ticket price I don't think there is much I would be interested in. The only incentive i use is priority for tickets to away games. My friends are latics fans in the main with free tickets, I don't use the club coach and rarely use the club shop now i'm a bit too old for a replica shirt. Only annoyance for me is the summer holiday is due to be paid in March as well. (i expect that might apply to others as well) and i was expecting/hoping season ticket renewals would be done a bit closer to the end of the season. Not the end of the world - it just seems early. cheers
  3. In fairness March does seem early? 270 isn't to bad the incentives don't really offer anything to me but i'm possibly a minority
  4. He was fantastic v Tranmere, Crewe away where he dominated midfield almoat on his own and one or two other decent performances Yeovil for example. We need more quality that's what we are missing..midfield has been rubbish for most of the season maouche is only interested when we has the ball at his feet after that his work rates drops of hugely and just still out on sylla as for coke. God knows
  5. Got what we deserved in the end. Good first half invited them on and while they created chances they didn't take them. But we has oue own moment's.Baxter excellent first half. 2nd half bury 11 given freedom of the park someone had to jump on him. Constantly got the ball played it wide and eventually we couldn't keep them out. That 3rd was a joke it just needed clearing. Missilou was battling on his own in the middle of the park at times. Maouche ineffective surprised he stayed on as long as he did. We needed to offer more going forward to give Baxter chance to support the attack. We just don't have the quality to really duke it out with the best in the division. I'm loathe to be too critical of scholes as he hasn't had a lot of time in the job and resources are limited but I hope he's backed in the summer and we get our recruitment done early.
  6. We have I admire the optimism, but we have lost our best players - don't have strength in depth - have a rookie manager - and are team lacking in form and confidence. Even if we snatch a win today we haven't been consistent enough to think we might suddenly hit a long run of form. Hoping for a win but looking at how well Bury are doing its going to be a big ask
  7. Still amazes me that people think there is a chance of a play off push. That's gone after two very poor performances when we had a slim chance of sneaking in there. AS someone else has said loosing Lyden and Sturridge and not getting good solid replacements has cost us.This season we lost to both Macc and more recently Morecambe who are both rubbish. Nothing but hard working cloggers and they beat us and easily. We are paying for poor recruitment in the summer - 4 forwards in Cog, Baxter, Sturridge and Lang. 2 of the 4 we didn't own and there was always a chance one would be recalled, injured or just not score many. We are now left at at crucial point on the season barely able to muster a forward line. Cog up front on his own is a horror show. Sylla hasn't impressed and its still early days for him but we certainly haven't dominated midfield when he has played. The two more recent loan signings in Jan are baffling. Whats the point of signing two lads who can't play a part of weeks? Surely we could have found adequate replacements for areas of the team we were weaker in - do we really need another left back? After Stotts performance midweek maybe we do but for Scholes to say it's difficult for the Forrest loanee to get game time cause we have 3 or 4 left backs is really really odd. Surely he's there to try and improve us not just make up numbers we have a big squad as it is. We will do well to get a draw - fed up of the last months at latics. lingering managerial appointments, poor recruitment and performances have gone backwards. Hoping we can snatch a draw today - if we continue were we have left off in the last two games could see us going on a really poor run as the season collapses
  8. Agree Jan recruitment was also rubbish. What's the point of signing the lads from West ham and forrest
  9. Got off to the worst possible start Stott wandering inside and leaving a winher get wide open to cross. Looked well out of his depth tonight dire performance. I never want to see Missilou and Sylla in the same team again. Awful Every time they play together. Sylla ends up sitting deeper than missle and then we end up with no options to pass the ball. We have been short up top all season with either short term loans or people returning from Injury as a stop gap. We've not really had a right winger either this season so have blunted our attacking options further Cog isn't a lone striker not physical, enough or mobile enough to do it. But who else do we have without Lang? Injures and having 3 games in a week have probably been too much for our squad but the worrying thing for me is Macclesfield, morecambe and Crewe have all been weak performances. Bullied and out worked and even when we do have possession we rarely threaten. Not sure how we get anything at bury but play like that and we could be in for a real going over. That midfield as a whole tonight was awful. Hopefully some of these loans players can come in and improve us short term but any talk of reaching the play offs should stop. We are too easily bullied and have no cutting edge. We scored last night because morecambe switched off. Good finish from Baxter but even then we were hanging on a bit. 2 up top please, even if the 2nd striker is a make shift one
  10. Well he's an absolute tool so that's why some people are glad of it probably. Wonder what he's done now.
  11. This. Branger and nepo was great. Lang worked his back side off and missle was immense. How hammer got up but played on I'll never know. Thought he was going off on a stretch for sure. How they had all 11 on the pitch I'll never know some really late tackles
  12. If he's half as good for us as a manager as he was as a player he will do wonders for us. So many barriers to overcome though. I hope its a success.
  13. Hunt simply has to start at left back... After a slow start he's done pretty well since about Tranmere away. He's a decent defender in either full back sport. Neop is the best crosser of a ball we have and if one on one with a full back he can normally find a yard to sling a cross in - which is about the only way Vera might score. Putting Nepo at left back hurts in 2 ways. If the chairman is insisting Branger plays then we may as well give up now. He's OK Branger a willing trier but Nepo is the better option out wide. To be honest playing loads of holding midfielders etc will see us get beat - it will be same as last weekend. We have no one to hold the ball up top. It will just come straight back and all Mac did in the middle of the park was be aggressive be first and kick it long or into a channel. Lang looked shattered/injured last week he didn't close down nearly enough so if we asking to cover every blade of grass we may struggle We have to play 2 up top to at least give us some breathing space and half a chance of someone producing something
  14. So if i have read this right we have no strikers fit for Saturday? O'Grady has a knock and might miss out which leaves us with Lang, Baxter who's probably no where near fit and who else? I'd like to see us play a bit more of the front foot on Saturday - Mac look to have improved but surely we need to be looking at beating at team near the bottom but that lack of proper forward is a worry. Lang can do a job up top, would he be better with a partner? Branger maybe? Mobile and hard working and he might be able to run at people at bit. Nepo too valuable too loose from a wide spot. Maouche probably not physical enough think he's better as an orthodox CM, Sylla? Would you give you some height and strength maybe? I'm clutching at straws a little but we badly need some bodies in
  15. cheers for that, not looked into travel yet. will be heaving i imagine
  16. Not bad at all. I do wish Northen would either get this strike stuff sorted or get the franchise taken off them, its been going on for ages im surprised they are still in business
  17. Yeah been a good player for us. If he could get us up a division as a player then he probably might qualify for ' 'legendary'status. First bit of success in ages and length of service plus nack of scoring goals would be a decent shout. But not a legend at the moment.
  18. Thought we started a bit negative. One up front against bottom of the league and they started on the front front. We eventually got into it. Lang excellent first half but couldn't find end product Defence solid but edmunson especially guilty of over playing and either loosing the ball or putting his team mates under pressure. Lyden and missle often got in each other's way but county's midfield wasn't up to much so we got away with it. Nepo and branger linked well down the left. Thought it was a poor game to be honest and a better side would have caused us more trouble but other than a spell second half when we lost shape we were never in any real danger of loosing. Sturridge and Lang if they both go are going to be very hard to replace. We are in a good position but this could be as good as it gets. Hopefully someone with experienceof this level is coming in not another cheap ass appointment...I really don't want yet another in club appointment
  19. Think it's a snap decision and not convinced it's the right one. We were going well until Carlisle at home when the players didn't get paid..and since then we have been hit and miss but has picked up in recent weeks. I agree with someone else that at times we see me to stumble ontp things. Missle and maouche weren't given a go until injurys took hold. Unless there is a clear plan for a replacement this is yet another merry go round sacking and will do no one any favours. There have been some good team performances of late the last2 results are dissapointing and boxing day a horror show but even good teams get bounced.
  20. Think that's harsh...since Tranmere away we have been playing well bury Crewe, Lincoln all good performances
  21. Brilliant performance. We knew bury would have moments of pressure but we held out and nicked the 4th to real take the wind out of them. The energy to press like we did first half was great to see. 2nd half they caught us napping and then built from there but we deserved to see that out and once we got the 4th we had spells of possession. Proper team performance again. Sturridge and cog ran their backside off. Nepo was excellent again. The defence through themselves at everything late on as bury pressed. Bit of luck required but we are improving as a team.
  22. Just think the same thing. Met office reporting -2 in parts. As the frost covers don't work below that it could be touch and go. Lets hope its on
