  1. nah i really don't agree.. there fella knocked it well wide and never had a hope of getting it... Lockwood turned to go with the ball and the Barnsley player ran flush into his back The 2nd one was similar and you could see the red coming as soon as it happend.
  2. Jones is our best player on his day.. He is a victim of being versatile can do a job on the left but is far more useful in the center I would even play him off a striker.. Has great stamina, decent shot, good pace and control Not sure I agree with Winchester being our most intelligent player - He's come on leaps and bounds this season but he still does a lot of sideways running....Dreadfully unlucky with the clearance yesterday
  3. Bit harsh on the two new lads. Saddler did OK although it was obvious he had not played much this season and Woodland showed some nice touches but wasn't trusted to have much of the ball when he dropped deeper into midfield. We dont really have anyone who can cross a ball reliably or the forward line to shove two up top at the minute. Forte is a winger. Poleon is a winger and injured. I like the look of Murphy so maybe he could do OK with Wilkinson but we dont have many options. Winchester showed flashes its either him or Mike Jones behind Wilkinson if we are to continue with one up front. Phillis last decent contribution was Fleetwood away. That's an age away now. Cant see where the next win is coming from so we need to try something different anything
  4. Neither was Yellow a card.....the first one the guy knocked it wide off him then ran into Lockwoods back...played for a got but never a foul
  5. It might just me but does anyone else think Jones can only take a good set piece if its a direct shot??? If he tries to cross from a free kick it seems to go out of play and out of about 8 corners on Saturday he managed to produce 1 possibly 2 decent ones. Can no one else have a go?
  6. Wilson was an idiot.... Got needlessly involved after he pulled a guy back in Yeovils half and then started it giving it the hard man routine and got booked - Deservedly... The foul on there guy he might have got away with a booking as it was in there half - he's been rubbish for weeks. We didn't start playing for about 20 minutes they had 3 free headers before we woke up the match started like a friendly until Yeovil realised they could get at us and it was embarrassing that we were in front. Forte did well wide - if Wilkinson is fit he has to start up front and get Forte wide left. Jones was awful for most of the first half get him central or behind Wilkinson. Phili dire again needs benching not even working hard at the moment just trotting at the side of people. Another frustrating game. For 10 mins of the second half we did OK and got the ball on the floor - but we always looked like we would concede and even if Hayter hadn't scored they probably would have had a penalty. Brown had cleared off the line from him a few minutes earlier so the warning signs are there. We need to grind out some results badly.
  7. Im going so a manky one nil win will do just fine. I remember watching Yeovil in the warm up and they looked awful. That day if we had played our normal style with a settled side I am convinced we would have won. Stupid tactics and some poor defending cost us that day. If Wilkinson is fit to start that's a massive plus for us...Get Forte on the wings where he can use his pace without having to be too physical and I think we are starting to see that Poleon might do us a job on the wing but he's no striker. Lets see if some real pace with Jones breaking causes em trouble. For a change how about us scoring an early goal? a 2-1 latics win would be great.
  8. Sheridan had run out of ideas with us....Even before Doggy gate im not sure things were well The side Dowie had would have got us promoted most seasons... He only left after Moore sold the ship out from under him. I would have liked to see what we could have done with a second seasonWe were also the fittest team in the division and could dish it out as well as take it and grind out wins - see Mansfield away.
  9. He a player who likes defending which is exactly what we need. We have Mills, Brown, Kusunga, J. Wilson at the back who all have decent speed we can afford to have someone who isn't the most mobile if he can gets us organised and do the ugly stuff. We don't need ball playing centre half's but Wilson and Lockwood if he can keep fit look a decent partnership on a paper and after last night probably on the pitch to.
  10. I think he's out of form more than anything. If a chance falls to him in the box he normally makes the 'keeper work. If a few go in on he converts the Pen from the other week his form might imrpove. A rest might do him good. My only problem with him is he isn't very strong on the ball but just one of them things. He's a solid player at this level.
  11. IF we sell Forte now i really do wonder why i bother turning up. Our next "top" scorer has 4 after that is big george. He is about our only goal threat. Can they not have Poleon instead hes quick.....
  12. Good keeper and did well for us. Made a mistake v Crawly we brought Kenny in and since i think Chubbs has looked a bit shaky at times. More a confidence thing than anything I think. For some reason Johnson hasn't rated him a for a bit now. Sure he will find another club.
  13. HAHAH fair enough. I didn't think we were great today. 6 from 9 lets hope we can keep going against Barsley
  14. Strange game in many ways. Before the 1st goal i thought we were the slightly better side without ever looking like creating anything clear cut.- Then a good move see Poleon get a chance something goes on between his and Carroll and surprisingly for a veteran keeper he looses the plot and take full advantage. His positioning for the 1st two goals was awful. Misjudged the cross for the 1st and then gave AMS 90% of the goal to aim for. The timing of the 1st two goals killed off county. Kean 7 - did well came for everything and punched well. Couple of moments where his communication seemed to let him down will come with time. Great stop at half time B Wilson 6 - Fairly solid although gave the ball away a lot and is so one paced its unreal J.Wilson 5 - Head in the clouds today lots of poor headers that went direct to Notts or put us under pressure. Gave the ball away cheaply when he came forward to Brown 7 - His usual scrappy-do- but- slightly- unconvincing- style of play worked again. Gave the ball away a few times but then produced a great run and cross for the 3rd. I like him even though i think he can be a weak link but he did well at Fleetwood and again today Big George 7 - Did what was needed in defense and another important goal Winchester 6 - flashes off what he can do and when he takes people on he walks past people but he isn't consistent and tires quickly Kelly 7 - Another solid game won most of the midfield battle and used the ball sensibly Jones 7 - Plenty of effort but didn't see much of him in an effective attacking sense. Danny P 5 - Almost anonymous until he went as an out and out striker. I'm not sure we should use him as behind the front man play. His work rate means he's an asset defensively but he inst fast enough to join attacks on a regular basis or creative enough. Stick up top with one of AMS or Poleon. Poleon 6 - Is something starting to click? much better work rate even though he still gives up two easily. Should have buried both chances but at least they he's starting to get on the end of things. For me his touch is still poor and rarely passes but maybe hes turning a corner AMS -6 honest enough player wins very little in the air but isn't really a target man. Got on the end of the lucky break well and didn't make any mistake with all the goal to aim for, Went off injured? Forte 8 - tore them a new one when he came on. The overhead would have been a wonder goal if not for the cross bar. Came close with volley as and finished Browns cross well. Mellis - not match fit but some nice touches, When his fitness improves i wonder if he will get used behind the front men. All in all a good win. We did OK without ever looking convincing until Fore came on. I didnt think we played all that well today and was wondering if our constant lack of width with the dimond was to be our undoing as we were doing our usual get to the last 3rd then go all the way back to the full backs. We need someone else in up front especially if AMS is out for any length Notts were poor second half the goals killed them and Im amazed Carroll lost the plot like he did. Good win but there will be stiffer tests to come
  15. What a farce this has been. Who in their right mind thought this was a good idea and that the backlash wasn't going to happen... and whoever did think this was a good idea in the first place needs to have a long hard look in the mirror. and preferably leave the club The saddest thing out of all of this is that its taken money or the threat of loosing it before we have cancelled the deal. I didn't want the club dragged through the mud which has happened anyway. Farce
  16. Awful awful performance. No comes out of that game with any credit. Kenny let one in from 20 yards - conceded a crap OG last week but i bet no one says a word. Why play 3-5-2 we haven't played it all season???? Stupid although not helped by two stupid bits of play from Kusuga. When is LJ going to tell the defence to F***** clear the ball when under pressure we don't need to play football on the edge of the 18 yard box. Back 4-5 awful. James WIlson and Elekobi were all over the show. You could have driven a bus through space between them. Wilson was just strolling about but it was failry obvious he wasnt sure where to mark Brian Wilson is not a wing back good solid footballer but doesn't have the pace for it Kusunga i like him but always liable for a mistake. Yeovil got 2 hand wrapped xmas presents today Dieng started well but after that drifted out of the game and left Yeovil with a free run at the defence Jones normally a steady eddy but nothing came off for him how many times did he run into a player chip it straight at them then try and claim hand ball. His set pieces were well below standard as well. Philli and Johnson started brightly but both soon faded and Philliskirks dive in the box was a joke get a shot off ffs Jabo fought for the ball but Yeovil had two massive center backs and but for the odd flick he got very little joy out of them. Simply not good enough to day. The marking from the set piece was a joke. THey had an advantage in height fine they get the header in but why the hell is no then moving to close him down so he cant just knock the ball in blazing that i have paid good money to watch that crap today - Corny wonders why people don't return to the club - after watching that i wish i hadn't bothered. 4-0 at home to a team who were as technically poor as yeovil - joke rant over
  17. wowzers. Where's that Ron Burgundy gif when you need it!? So Kenny in as cover for Chubs and possible number 1 if Chubs makes a mistake. Odd for days for Etheridge he's was probably hoping he might be able to challenge for a starting spot and then off he goes - weird
  18. I like Chubbs always done well and in terms of mistakes he hasn't made many this season I don't think. Even the Crawly mess up could be argued that Wilson should have done better as well. He has made plenty of good saves this season and a few of them have been great despite some on here trying to play that down. Kenny looks out of shape and while he's been decent in the past he's 36 and probably looking towards the end of his career Do we really need him? I don't think we do He's also had his problems off the field is bringing any baggage?. I hope its just to keep chubs on his toes and LJ has made more good signings than bad but I don't think we need him
  19. His lack of league one football showed a bit at times but there's a defo a player there. Went walk about for their goal and got caught underneath a few high balls a few times and was guilty of ttrying to play too many passes in defence but he will only get better. On the plus side he looks athletic and calm its just getting it into him when to pass when to blast it clear
  20. It is,,,, They scored and for 5 minutes were causing us problems then we got the ball back and they did't get out of their own half. We are starting to find goals now and even tho there were one or two weak moments at the back and a bit of over playing they didn't cause us that many problems. ill enjoy the beer tonight - we looked a quality side
  21. Awesome today. Ran the show in the middle of the park. Did everything well. Even when get shoved out onto the wings at times. Top drawer necromancer - cracking engine on him
  22. I like Brian Wilson but so often he gets to the final 3rd then goes backwards to Winchester hes got to try and drive at the defender some of the time or get a ball in... The amount of times it killed momentum today was criminal but as a defender hes very very solid I'm a bit worried about Poleon now. He had an OK debut but has gone backwards since...Doesn't look at the races although in fairness we never play the ball early enough for him to run on to Still not convinced with Winchester on the wing maybe time to give Moragn-Smith a run out and see how he does for 90 mins 10th will do very nicely that's a game we could have easily lost. But we stuck at it. Scunthorpe were really poor kick it long to Fallon was the plan and we stopped it most of the time. It would have been very harsh on us to loose that feels all the more satisfying for all the time wasting they did
  23. he was poor first time i saw him but hes improved steadily each week. He was excellent today bar the odd over ambition pass - worked hard won loads of challenges and did the simeple stuff well
  24. I thought our pitch was some kind of bizarre hybrid. Or am I wrong?
