    Yes, It would have been like opening a Corner shop next to a Megastore and an Aldi,Business Suicide. Would rather we moved to Ashton than down there

    Winchester has looked a shadow of the player he was last year.Feel sorry for Dieng,looked good v Wigan and linked up well with Croft in attack, fired a few in from right wing.

    Had supported them for 20 years before that and seen steady progress.The thing that Surprised me most about the great team from 89-91 was that all the players who came from Leeds and City reserves all came here for more money! Hope I am wrong but thats the main reason I cant see it happening again in my lifetime, these kids languishing in the stiffs at big Clubs now are on ridiculous wages.

    Used to play in his garden as a kid,had a Bungalow where Dogford Road meets Fir Lane in Royton, Think the club might have owned it as John Colhoun lived there as well at one time. Never saw him play but must be one of the most versatile players we have had by the sound of it.

    Great talent and very good athlete,coached him from being 8 to 15 (Not at Football though) ,gutted hes not come here

    Mike Lesters son Jack Lester has scored a fair few goals past us,only found out a month or two back he was Mikes son

    Last saw him on Mrs,Merton tv show,he was a rep for Leeses IF i remember rightly

    I thought, and still think, things all started going Pear shaped when we went out of the FA Cup and Corney went public about how much of a disaster it was, resulting in 2 good loan players going back to their Clubs,one who wasnt even wanted at his respective Club yet wanted to stay here,the other who is playing a big part in Prestons promotion push.

    Seemed to pear shaped after Corney had a public rant when we lost to Donny in the FA Cup, a few months after saying we didnt have to rely on FA Cup money this year.it seemed to destroy the Feel good factor about the place

    I seriously dislike FCUM fans, they went from supporting a side who are used to being big fish in a little pond to another side who are now, yes,youve got it!

    We DID NOT retain our best players,we let Daniel Johnson (not as good as Philliskirk some said,tee hee) and Jabo go back to their clubs, they where 2 of the best players,and yes,I know Jabo is a horses for courses player

    i dont think your average 60s Footballer would have had much idea what was going on in Rhodesia,the world is a lot smaller these days.On saying that,bet your average Footballer still hasnt much idea whats going on away from his favorite bar!

    We should have signed Paul Hall instead from Rushden. Kiegan Parker had the worst attitude ,looked a worldbeater with Blackpool

    It was Norman Holden, he had agreed to fund the transfer of David Batty from Leeds but some old farts on the board said it wasnt right that he would get a share of the profits if we sold him on! He also funded Mickey Quinn and Neil Adams transfers. Good bloke Norman,also put money in at Sheddings and Oldham Cricket, both did well out of his funding too.
