The guy on GMR Eyres (cant remember his first name) said this months ago , Latics spend for too long during a game chasing the ball and consequently are knackered 2nd half. They don't leave anybody up at set plays so the ball comes straight back and no team can defend and keep 100% concentration during a game. Also the long punts upfield just come straight back because we have nobody capable of holding it up so why not keep it to feet on the ground. Robbo is aware of it but does nothing about it . I have asked him twice about it in September (on the radio) and at last months meet the manager and both times he defends it passionately . He reckons the more players you leave up means the opposition have more space to move about at corners etc , funny how we can have 13 corners at Port Vale who left 2 sometimes 3 up yet never once were able to exploit the vast area of empty space to score !!!

I was thinking that Boro may take him back and loan him to a championship side , but then again is he ever going to get as much practice as he gets here !!!

Fane is what he is , a non league player out out his depth. Shouldn't be playing especially when Green is in the team .

My view is that based on the weather forecast they didn't use the covers on the basis that any frost would be well out of the ground come 3pm. Ref arrives 12 ish , inspects pitch and calls it off because of the a 5 x 5 area not yet defrosted. Poor on Latics not being properly prepared and also surely the ref should use some common sense. Knowing at 12.30 when he called it off that Peterborough players would probably be having lunch somewhere close by , did he not ask latics ground staff if the pitch could be made playable in 2 hours + !!!!! Whatever the truth i know that it would have been totally avoidable. Yet again though it makes Latics look even more the amateur run club that they are !!!!!!!!

But it isn't and that's why we get such pathetic outcomes of various things. Common sense is not allowed in town halls for instance !!!!

5 x 5 area is about as big as my front garden. Are the staff we employ seriously so inept that they couldn't figure out a way to get it defrosted in 3 hours !!!!!!!

Not the first time OAFC will be the ONLY club in the entire football league to postpone a game. Happened against Swindon not long ago when we called it off on Friday night despite forecasts that the temperature would be 8 degrees on Saturday. Yet again bad bad decision making at the club to have a game called off when the pitch is playable at 9am. Costly in so much as cash flow as one of only 2 games at home during a 6 week period is called off. It doesn't happen at any other club so please dont say its bad luck again , it is poor decision making by amateurs and frankly i am totally pissed off with it. 55 years a S/T holder and this is my last one because i have finally had enough of supporting such an amateur outfit.

IF the sprinklers were on this morning you have to question why !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It has obviously frozen what we put on .

Listening to radio Stoke on the way back their reporter said - "After Latics dominated the 1st half and Vale were lucky to go in all square at HT , they obviously got a rocket from the manager . Whatever was said it produced the most entertaining 2nd half of football i have seen for a long long time. As good as entertainment as you will see outside the premier league. How Oldham are in the bottom 4 is a complete mystery on this performance and no vale fans could have complained had they walked away with the 3 points. Overall though a draw was probably right as no side deserved to lose a game based on that 2nd half"

Concur - The only slight negative i would say tonight is McKay. I have given him the benefit of doubt this season because of poor service but tonight both Flynn & Mclaughlin put in a stream of great crosses (especially 1st half) and McKay just never looked like getting on the end of any. Whilst his workrate is ok he is supposed to be a box striker and after tonight & Saturdays efforts i just can't see him doing it. Half a decent striker would have seen us pick up 6 points these last 2 games. Also these last 2 games show we can play with either Green or Fane in front of the back 4 but not both.

Wow , Wow , Wow - Just seen interview and read the threads and can't believe the reaction to it. He only spoke what most of us know anyway and i really don't understand what they expect him to say, He has clearly thrown the gauntlet down to the negative posters so perhaps they will stop posting their utter drivel until they have accepted the challenge !!!!

Cant remember the last time we won at Vale on a Tuesday night though !!!!!

He's ok for Tuesday. Fane is currently on 3 Y/Cards. The 2 he received against Shrewsbury do not count in the totting up process for a one game ban. - Rule is IF a player is yellow carded and then given a straight red later in the game then he will receive a ban for his red and the yellow will count towards the tot up rule. IF a player receives 2 yellows in a game the subsequent red card will lead to a one match ban but the yellows will NOT count towards the tot up rule"

Was watching Latics train today. Robinson was putting the front players Erwin , McKay, Croft , Mclaughin and Flynn through a series of moves with each movement ending with the player having to score from a cross , each cross was put in from different sides , angles and heights. When doing the move himself Robinson scored with the touch of Roger Palmer on every one. When the players did it Erwin scored 3 out of 5 , Croft got 2 and the others trailed in with one or none, and they were the best scores from 2 attempts each. Maybe Robinson should put himself upfront and solve his own problems !!!!!!!!
