O'Grady isn't cuptied - Latics refused permission.

At the meeting towards the end of last season with SC and Tommy W there i strongly made this exact point. There answers didn't convince me that it was a good decision and i even told SC i thought they would regret it. They must be regretting it now. I think this has led to a lot of the problems we are currently seeing in the squad. Also it has a major impact on the bench when the subs come on they are clearly no way match fit. I hope it gets reinstated next season because ultimately this is one big mistake that will cost us dearly.

Whilst TTA have every right to say what they want they should do it in private to the players and staff not through the media. Nothing worse than getting slagged off in public. TTA obviously do business this way because we had similar rantings by them over Porter and Killen leaving. Can only cause unrest in the longterm and i feel this is the begining of the end as things are at BP. Maybe thats what they want but i think they have done it as a kick up the backside , unfortunatley i fear it will come back to haunt them. Hardy should have known better.

I was going to start a new thread on same subject so this has saved me -- Is Gregan an asset or liability ??? Technically he is a better player than Stam but when he plays teamwork at the back disappears. Last season the defence was quite solid - this year at times extremely poor. Every player covered each other last season yet this season we appear so reliant on Gregan at the back that when he makes a mistake we concede or it is a penalty ? Is Gregan upsetting the balance of the side ? We have won more without Gregan than with so is it time to drop him ?? I think yes.

Every team breaks their bad runs against us so if they have lost 4 on the trot then were in trouble. It would have been better had they won 4 on the trot.

We must be improving though - Last season we could only muster 4 subs for the bench, this season we will be able to fill 7 places - Round 3 here we come.

There was a rumour last season from within the club that Shez lost out on certain transfer targets because he dilly dallies and can't make decisions. Appears to be true and once again we are paying the price. Don't know why everyone was up in arms at Hughes getting booked and leaving us in this mess , The managment knew when they let Davies go that he was on 4 bookings. The worlds worst gambler would have won money on Hughes getting booked over the next 3 matches so if it wasn't Cheltenham this week we would have had the same problem for the next league game. Shez is under a lot of pressure now and most of it is his own fault. TTA have backed him in all his attempts to sign players and hearing the last interview with SC tells me that the clock is now ticking. Time to get big Joe back me thinks !!!!!!!!!

One thing you can't deny is that the play offs make the season far more interesting. Very few end of season games now and although the latics have a dismal record i still think they are good. The only thing i would change is that IF the 2 teams are level at the end of the 2 games then the team that finishes higher in the league progress. If the team who finish 5th or 6th want to progress then they must beat the team above them not draw. Other than that leave alone.

Well everything went according to plan today. There was no way Latics were giving money away and after the great result on Tuesday they had to do something to save them from cashing in the vouchers. Well played Latics. Also well played Hughes for getting booking so he only misses cup game. I had Hughes first booking and 1-0 Yeovil. Just missed out on a nice payout because it was all so predictable. Just didn't expect them to score 2

At my old place we had 4 reds , 2 city , 1 Leeds and 1 Iiverpool. By the time i left we had 3 latics , 1 Red (2nd team Latics) , 1 50% City/50% Latics , 1 50% liverpool/50% Latics and i left the Leeds fan alone.No good working on lost causes.

There was some good points to take from today. Good seats Nice pastie and coffee. Pitch in good nick. Parked in street behind the open end - 20 seconds walk away. No traffic when i left 5 mins from the end. A417 is now dual carriageway all the way to Cheltenham so got home quicker. Roll on Tuesday

Coming back on local radio they were over the moon that for the first time in 6 months they had kept a clean sheet. Sums it up really. Crossley is weak on crosses which i think puts defenders in 2 minds. It undermines the back four and they are playing with no confidence. Distribution from the back is not poor it is pathetic. . Not strong enough in midfield , nobody to win the ball and push forward. Lacking height up front - need a good target man like Porter to play alongside hughes. Neither of our front men are good at holding it up yet we play long balls upto them. Chris Taylor is our only theat at the moment and shez needs to do something quickly or we will be fighting a relegation battle. 2 down at half time yet i thought we were still in it and expected a Hartlepool reaction at the start of the second half. What did we get - 11 players who couldn't wait to get on the bus home. Swindon have the easiest win they will get all season . Stcckport , Bristol and today are places you need to pick up 6 -7 points if you are serious about promotion. We have picked up none and the only goal scored was a freak corner at Stockport. Spent a lot of time and money recently at away games and the only time i have had cause to jump off my seat was when i spilt my coffee !!!!!!!!! Shez is under PRESSURE.

Last season has been and gone. Your only as good as your last game and so far this season Davies just hasn't produced.

Well on this seasons showing i think i would rather have O'grady in the squad than Davies !!! Think Davies may be on the bench tomorrow.

Why don't the club produce a Roger Palmer video of his goals. Would be a top seller.

Hope i am wrong but think this could be a signing to cover Hughes. He hasn't been training so they wouldn't aggrevate his injury but he hasn't played 90 Mins for over a month now and i think he has a problem that will need surgery. Like i said hope i am wrong !!!!
